The Low Carbon Economy Act of 2007, introduced by Sens. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M. and Arlen Specter, R-Pa, is estimated to cost taxpayers $1 trillion in just its first ten years.

The EPA has analyzed the impact of this bill and determined that without it carbon in the atmosphere will rise from 380ppm (today) to 718ppm (by 2095) -- with this bill, the carbon will rise to 695ppm by 2095, a reduction of 23ppm. http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/economicanalyses.html

Regardless of your stand on global warming, $1 trillion for such a small result is ridiculous and wasteful.
