  1. I am sick and tired of the government doing everything but what it needs to do in order to bring gas prices down. I am tired of government representing special interest groups and not the will of the people. Stop jamming global warming down our throats - we don't buy into the scam whose only goal is political control. DRILL IN ANWR!!!!!

  3. I own a finish carpentry business and am spending between $600.00 and $700.00 a month on fuel. The fact that we do not drill and develop our own oil is insane. Why are our elected officials not developing ways to conserve fuel. For example, why is the speed limit still 65 mph? We need to do anything we can to conserve fuel, this is a very simple economic issue of supply and demand. Please get your heads out of your rear end and do something positive.

  5. The US is running out of oil and wasting precious time by not drilling in ANWAR. As I understand it the rise in price I pay at the pump is climbing because of OPEC increasing the the price of crude rather than the "Big" oil companies, as Congressmen call the owners of large oil producers in this country, increasing the price so their profits will increase. Let OPEC sell oil to China and let's drill for our own, keep the cost down and profit steady so improvements can be made in methods of drilling and refining for the consumption of the American people.

  9. How much longer we going to wait?

Nearly 150 years ago Congress was persuaded by Secretary of State Seward to purchase an icebox. Because of this, we now have a tremendous opportunity to rid ourselves of our dependency on foreign oil. What needs to be done is as clear as the noses on your faces.

    What are we waiting for?

Please act on this very important issue quickly. America is being hogtied by the Middle East and by neglecting to act, Congress is allowing them to control our economy.

You may think a move to drill will take years to bring our economy back, but all you would have to do is mention that we are going to go forward and believe me, our economy will bounce.

  13. Drilling WILL NOT ruin the environment! Everybody else is drilling, including near our shores!!
We are many years overdue on supplying more of our own oil!!!

  15. The United States government has helped create the high cost of crude oil by catering to the enviromentalists. Also why aren't they pushing liqiudified coal if they really care about our national security? They just don't understand supply and demand or the Idea of not giving those who want to destroy us the money to do it!!!!!

  17. it is past time to start drilling for oil in the ANWR. We need the oil more than the ice and snow need the lack of visitors. my son visited the ANWR in the 90's and he brought back some incredible images of barren land. There is nothing there, nothing at all.

  19. THERE IS NO OIL SHORTAGE!!!!!!!!!!
Doing ten minutes of research on Wikipedia it’s easy to find that this country has NO shortage of natural resources for oil.
Looking at ANWAR, it is the largest oil field in the U.S. with estimates ranging from 4.3 to 11.8 billion barrels of oil. At $120 per barrel this would add $1.26 trillion to the economy.
Let’s look at coal. The world reserves of coal is equivalent to 4,417 billion barrels of oil, of that the U.S. has 27%. The U.S. is the Saudi Arabia of coal. Coal can be converted to gasoline and diesel, and becomes cost competitive when oil sells for $35 per barrel. Germany converted coal to gas and diesel in the 1920’s at a rate of 124,000 barrels per day.
How about oil shale? There is world reserves equivalent to 3 trillion barrels of oil. The U.S. has 62% of the entire world supply. Recovering oil from oil shale becomes cost effective when crude is at $40 per barrel.
Wind energy has the potential to produce the equivalent energy of 54,000 million tons of oil if captured from land and near shore worldwide. That’s 5 times the current world energy use.

  21. Since I am an intelligent and educated man, I know for a fact that the skyrocketing price of gasoline is NOT due to the oil companies trying to make obscene profits, but due to the simple law of supply and demand. Demand has gone up, while the supply has remained the same.

Opening up the ANWR and the offshore sites off of the west coast and in the Gulf of Mexico for drilling will enable us to tap into resources that will enable us to become independent for our energy needs, independent from our so called allies in the Middle East. Supply will go up, prices will come down. It's that simple.

You, our representatives and Senators in Congress have sworn to serve the people you represent. It's about time you do exactly that, rather than kowtow to (here's a delicious irony) big money.

As one of your employers, I say that you vote to open up the ANWR for drilling, as well as the west coast and Gulf of Mexico sites.

  23. YES DRILL...REFINE...REPEAT AS NECESSARY!!!!

The area needed to drill in ANWR is like a postage stamp compared to the size and scope of the rest of the reserve.....

Our country needs to become energy indepenent and not have to worry about the stranglehold OPEC has on us now...

If Clinton had allowed us to drill 12 years ago...we would be just on time to come online and possibly be averting the woes we have right now....

Starting to drill in ANWR now would also cause a concern in OPEC and they would immediately up production which in turn would lower price to prevent us from doing so....

  25. what more can be added drill the ANWR. there is oil there we need the oil until we can find an alternative source of fuel that is viable. we need oil more than the green people who think the United States is destroying the world. drill the ANWR. for the good of America. and uphold your oath of office. it is time to perform your job as you have been elected to do.

  27. Dear Sir or Madame:
The recent congressional grilling of the heads of the corporations (Exxon Mobil, etc.) who provide this country with the very stuff we need to live and work is pathetic, and I don't support it. Will our elected officials also soon be going after "big paint" by insisting that they invest more and more of their hard-EARNED profits in the wallpaper industry? The American people are seeing through this veil of class envy. We NEED gas. Exxon Mobil gives us gas without gouging. Why not allow them to more easily do what they do best by removing the endless obstacles in their way of finding, getting the crude out of the ground, refining it, and pumping it into my gas tank? Dick Durbin should be on his knees thanking the business leaders he attacks, asking instead, "How can I help?" Seriously, if I knew I could get a shovel and start digging in my own backyard to only 200 feet in depth, striking the black stuff, I'd start immediately! And yet I'm supposed to be concerned about a few rotten polar bears (who would likely flourish near the pipeline)? Supply and Demand! The laws of physics are pretty rigid against allowing us to produce a lot of solar-powered 18-wheelers...neither would that be cost-effective. Has it not occurred to folks that perhaps the i.c.e. (with decades of modifications/improvements) is just about the most energy-efficient mode of energy/transport we're going to have? Our country must stop shooting itself in the feet with taxes, regulations, lawsuits, etc. and get back into a more pro-economic mindset.

Why are you so blind to the needs of the millions of United States people that voted for you to take leadership of this great county, but no! the senaters and representatives that we voted in to office are the ones who are wanting to bring this great land down to ashes. WHY???????????? Also don't give us that myth about globle warming we the people know Al Gore is a fake and all he stands for is hogwash.

  31. The US has TONS of recoverable oil right here at home! Why this insanity has been going on
since 1973 is way over my head. Time to get a REAL energy policy going here; one that will
benefit the American citizen and worker, and not a bunch of price gougers, OPEC, and enviro-
lunatics! Gentlemen: we face a crisis, and YOU are in the driver's seat. Time to MOVE is now!

  37. Congress has had far too much to say about what is good for the American people. What is good for us is to be able to drill for our own resources, control our own thermostats. decide what kind of car we want to drive, and who our own republican nominee should be. These political shenanigansmo have been going on far to long. This country is about to go through a radical change if the politicos don't wise up. You can only distract the thinkers with bread and circuses for so long.

  39. I am personaly tired of the congress hauling the oil companies in front of them just to make a side show for the American people. It's time for the government to get truthfull with the people about the oil situation. Instead of making the oil companies the bad guys all the time and expecting them to solve the alternate fuel situation, It's time for the government to step up and find some solutions for alternate fuel and let the oil companies drill for the oil we need in the short term to relieve the oil situation.

  43. If the oil companies or the goverment would list the true cost of a gallon of gas, should include all tranportation, refining cost and all taxes, this would let the people know where the blame lies.WE NEED A COMPLETE COST BREAKDOWN WITH OUT ANY B.S. Also how many jobs would be created if we drilled for all the oil that is in the continenal U.S.and off the coast and built the refineries needed to process the oil.

  45. Greetings Elected Ones,

Enough of the Stalinist environmental tactics; please, stop enabling these people. By adopting those ludicrous policies and forcing them on "We the People", we're the ones paying the high price for your inactive ignorance. Please act now on behalf of "We the People" and not a miniscule specialist environmental group!

I encourage you to stand with the people who voted you in office and put a stop to this colossal environmental economic stupidity!
  46. This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

  47. Let us use our natural resources! We have so much oil we should actually be selling oil on the world market not buying it. Also, let us build some refineries! There is no excuse for our Congress to continue to cause the economic suffering of American citizens. Senator Brown you must talk sense into your Democrat colleagues. While they play politics with environmentalists, we the people of the United States suffer the consequences of those "games". If members of Congress are there serving "we the people", then please by all means do so "for the people". We are the greatest country to have ever existed on this planet and we have no need to appologize for that. We have eased the suffering of more people on this planet than all the rest of the countries that exist today or have ever existed before us-combined.
As for the price of oil, the ironic thing is that even just the "threat" of allowing more drilling spots in the US would send the price of oil plummetting. PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO HELP US!

  51. We can not expect to force other nations to increase their output if we don't. I heard 1 million new barrels of oil will save 62 cents per gallon at the pump. Responsible drilling in ANWR and our coastal regions will help farmers grow food, truckers deliver our goods, and our kids get to school until alternate sources are perfected (fuel cells?) or legislated (nuclear?). I do not believe berating our oil & gas producers is helpful.

  53. Oil companies are owned by the public. They are doing us a service. They are making a profit on the service they provide. No one is questioning you on the taxes you collect from them for doing what? The Gettysburg address states: 'that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth'. If this were truly a government for the people, then you would drill for oil to help the American economy. Start worrying about your constituents and quit worrying about wildlife. They will adapt like they always do!

Please move forward in REAL ACTION. This is a matter of national security, not political job security. I can assure you that my vote and any vote that I can sway will be based upon your collective decision to act.

My apologies for the sense of arrogance and disrespect. Now, it's your turn to apologize for your inaction to this point.

  59. I consider myself somewhat informed, and understand that the oil companies are not to blame for the cost at the pump. You (Democrats) campaigned on the basis that it was the Republicans fault that oil was $70.00 a barrel. Now that oil is now $135.00 a barrel and the Democrats are in charge, that puts the blame squarely on the shoulders of this DO NOTHING Democratic Party. I sign this petition with the hopes that The Democratic Party will wake up and stop sabotaging this great country of ours. Burning our food as fuel is not the answer, I'm all for alternative fuels BUT, If this was such a good idea. WHY does it need to be subsidized. In a free market, if it worked, investors would be all over it. Thats how capitalism works.

  61. Not only do we need to drill, we need to build more refinerys and initiate the production of coal into oil facilities. If Mr. Clinton had done the job right we would not be having the fuel cost crisis we are having now. Why not promote a 4 day work week, if we could save one gallon of fuel per week in the 143,000,000 cars on American highways by taking one less trip perhaps it could influence demand and bring the price down a bit. Big oil is not to blame for this mess, Congress and the House are.

  63. How sad it is that we....the greatest country on the planet must depend on foreign terrorist countries to supply us with the fuel that we need to go to work-plant our food and to ship that food to our stores. Relying on foreign oil perverts everything that we-The Land of the Free and The Home of the Brave stand for. Every foreign country on the planet is LAUGHING AT US....We are the only country that does not drill for oil on our own land. We have the environmentalist, the liberals and the Dems for the demise of our great country. Thank you all for protecting the "spotted cochroach" (or whatever is in fashion this week) while our country is led merrily into oblivion.

  65. We need to drill for oil in every possible location. We need to start a sugar cane ethanol prgram like they have in Brazil. We should do away with the corn ethanol program as it causes shortages of corn and drives up the price of corn. Growing massive amounts of sugar cane and building sugar cane ethanol plants should be a number one priority. We need to also start a program like when we went to the moon or developed the atom bomb for our top scientists to work on solar powered cars and homes.

  67. Please end our dependence on foreign oil. We need to be drilling in ANWR and elsewhere, along with starting Coal to Fuel conversion. This is the only way to lower fuel prices. It will also improve our national security, since we won't be at the mercy of OPEC.

  71. To paraphrase another politician...It's the supply, stupid.

SUPPLY -- Economics. the quantity of a commodity that is in the market and available for purchase or that is available for purchase at a particular price.

Until there is something better, drill our own.

  73. we need to unlock our United States resources and move our country forward. This lock the democrats and some republicans have on our energy resources is pathetic and is the single biggest drain on our economy. The congressional hearings with the oil executive is smoke and mirrors to deflect the true problem which is the United States Congress. The republicans should use this one issue to beat the Dems over the head and break this lock from enviromentalist. If we could get approval to drill the speculators in the market would run like rats and thats about 30-40 dollars a barrell in spec money . With no incentive to get out the futures market continuues to climb. This like watching a train wreck in slow motion

  85. We urgently need to drill in the ANWR area. We also urgently need to repeal the legislation that prevents drilling on the continental shelves off of both coasts. Additionally, restrictions on the construction of new refineries must be set aside.
Even if all the above were instituted immediately it would be a few years before benefits would arrive. Hence, we must act now.

  87. It is ridiculous that we have to rely on others for such an important resource when we have some much under our own soil. We preach how we want to be self reliant, well can be but Bill Clinton and our government wont let us. I agree we should find another means of fuel but why make us suffer and go broke while we wait. Use our resources to help our economy and our people.

  89. Let's put the Middle East out of business! I don't want to depend on any other country but our own, which is the responsible way to act! How do you expect this country to continue to function with gas prices such as this?? Most of the profits from Big Oil go to GOVERNMENT ANYWAY! I'm sick and tired of the Democrats agenda standing in the way of this country's tremendous potential. The American People need realistic, economically educated congressmen who actually understand how this world's economy operates. I'm sick and tired of Congress going round and round about environmentally trite issues that DON'T EVEN EXIST! What are our priorities??? If we have no economy, we have nothing!

If anything these nasty and greedy big oil executives should be calling you to their extravagant penthouse board rooms and grill you as to why you consistently stand in the way of them operating their business. It is becoming more and more evident who it is you truly represent. Does environmentalist ring a bell. And the Hell with your constituents. Don't forget when you sell us out, you are also selling out your children and grand children unless you really are only concerned about yourself.

  95. It's time we take back control of our country and our own destiny. Drill and refine our own oil! Not using what is available to us is almost like having a vegetable garden in our back yard but the government not letting us use the vegetables but make us buy them from other countries. If this congress won't let us use our own resources, then it's time for us to vote in people who will, and who care about us and will save US.

  97. Dear elected officials (all of you),
It is outrageous that fuel prices are as high as they currently stand and still going higher. The oil companies say it is not their fault. I guess it is the fault of those holding the oil wells in the desert! My husband used to work for one of the big oil companies and I know a little about what goes on inside the company and not just what is released to the press. If it is not their fault then why are they posting some of the highest profits ever? I guess a few of those execs don't want to give up their limo drive to the airport and the company pays for all their travel so what do they care? We, the American people are picking up the tab for these oil company execs. When I can't afford the gas to see my new grandchildren it ticks me off because these "it's not our fault" oil execs do not care how their posted higher profits are affecting the American people, our economy nor our life styles. Why should they? We are paying the bill for all their travel on company business; so what if their wife and/or kids go along and we pay for them as well. Why should they care. It's not coming out of their pockets because they are reaching so deeply in ours. Not that I really believe in price fixing but this is one instant why I feel it is called for. The people, such as yourselves that represent the voice of the every day Americans need to speak up for us. That is why you are in office; you are our voice. Stop the oil companies in their tracks right now. Force them to lower the price of fuel, and I don't mean by a few pennies, I mean by a noticeable difference. Force them to use some of their own profits to fly their execs and their families on their own dime and not on ours.

I'll be watching to see if any of our elected officals care enough about the average American to do anything to help them in this situation. Tens of thousands and more of Americans drive more than 20 miles to and from their jobs each day of their work week. Some are now going to have to work a second job just to pay for the fuel to drive to their first job alone. Enough is enough! Stop this insanity in its tracks.

    Thank you very much,

    A caring Patriot,

THERE IS NO FUEL THAT CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF OIL AND UNTIL WE FIND A SUITABLE ALTERNATIVE WE NEED OIL AND IT NEEDS TO BE AFFORDABLE. 107. This is an opened letter to the US Congress and the three presidential candidates.
I want to show you, Congress, just how "helpful" you have been to the American people, our way of life, and to our capitalist society. First, I want to let you know that I am not on Big Oil's payroll, nor am I an official spokesman for Big Oil. I'm just an American who believes in our Constituion, capitalism, freedom, and our way of life. Here are a list of things that Congress has done to help this nation get off of foreign oil and to stop our enslavery to Saudi Arabia:

    1) Drilling in ANWR is off limits
    2) Drilling off the coast of Florida and California is off limits
    3) No new leases for drilling in the Gulf while China, Venezuela, and Cuba pursued these
leases. These countries have just signed 100-year leases on the oil in the Gulf of Mexico
    4) Promised to introduce and pass a cap and trade legislation bill that will increase the price of gas
an additional $1.50 (according to the EPA). Others have said that the price could rise to $5.00 a
    gallon
    5) Shutting down oil fields in Colorado
    6) Develop shale oil fields in several Western states is off limits
    7) Passed legislation that will let us sue OPEC (as if OPEC will not retaliate)
    8) Have allowed environmental lawyers to sue oil companies for future possible destruction

Members of Congress, just for a couple of minutes, I want you to extract your heads from your anuses and take your hands out of those Marxist leaning special interest groups' pockets, and think. Think of what your actions are doing to the "little people". Think of what your actions are doing to our national security. Think of what your actions are doing to capitalism. Think of what your actions are doing to our Constitution. You took an oath to uphold the Constitution and to protect the US. These actions, as listed above (and the many, many others that are not listed), have negated your oath. You, by your actions, have endangered our national security, make it a crime to make a profit for goods that are sold, and have totally disregared our Constitution and our voice. Instead you have partnered with special interest groups who have dangerous agends, ignored your constituents, and have turned to Marxists ideas. And you wonder why that we, We The People, have such a low opinion of you.

  113. WE NEED TO IMMEDIATELY DRILL FOR OUR OWN OIL; AND ALSO CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL REFINERIES. THIS SHOULD BE DONE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE;TO KEEP OUR ECONOMY FROM SUFFERING SIGNIFICANT, IFNOT UNREPAIRABLE DAMAGE. CONGRESS SHOULD ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM IN THE BEST INTEREST OF OUR COUNTRY ; INSTEAD OF THE POLITICAL PARTIES STRIVING FOR POLITICAL ADVANTAGE. THE CITIZENS COULD CARE LESS ABOUT WHO GETS POLITICAL ADVANTAGE. WE JUST WANT YOU TO ACT WITH THE BEST INTEREST OF OUR COUNTERY IN MIND.

  115. It is amazing to me that our own elected representitives will do all they can to keep a Saudi product on the market and not allow us to drill and refine our oil in the USA. Not only ANWAR, but the Gulf Coast and the hughe oil deposit under N. Dakota needs to be explored. The oil executives made fools of congress on 5/22/08. If anything, the oil executives SHOULD HAUL CONGRESS before a panel and have them explain why they (congress) is prventing "big oil" from drilling, refining and delivering their product to consumers.

Has anyone taken a look at the Democratic energy plan? There's everything but energy in it. "Gerbil power" is a long way off.

It is Congresses' fault that the oil prices are what they are. Once the American people wake up and realize it there will be a revolt.

Congress hear this: Everyone I know and work with are cpmplaining not only about the price of gas and oil, but YOU, CONGRESS. You better wake up and begin working for "we the people" for a change.

  117. In Bowdoinham, Maine where I live many families in our town are still struggling to pay fuel bills from last winter. The price of fuel oil may be double again next winter. It dose not have to be like this. Open up domestic fosil fuel production!

  119. Please release us from the reins of OPEC and allow us to drill and depend on our OWN God given natural resources here in the United States!! These are the voices of the very people who you represent, and if you keep choosing to ignore our voices, we WILL silence yours!! Remember, it's Government of the people, by the people, and for the people...not for your environmental lobbyist friends!!

  121. Senators McConnell and Bunning and Representative Lewis,
As I know that you are behind this idea, all I want you to do is be more persuasive in debating the Democrats. When the price of gas and heating oil hits $10 to $12 per gallon, it really won't take much persuation. Don't the Democrats realize that as soon as you pass the legislation, the price per barrel of crude oil will drop like a rock s it is futures that are so high.

  123. Congress always says it wants to create new jobs. I don't think you people elected to office has any idea how many jobs are connected to the oil and gas industry. This country runs on oil and rubber.Yes we need other ways to power our cars and trucks, but thats not going to happen over night, and if you think it is your a fool. Making fuel from corn is not the anwser either all that does is drive the price of food up.WE NEED OIL DRILL FOR IT !!!

  127. I respectfully request that my representatives begin to display the leadership for which they are so amply remunerated by recognizing that they are the reason for our dismal economy. First and foremost, we have allowed this country to be influenced negatively by the global warming theorists, Al Gore in particular, who espouse information about our climate and warming that is fallacious and erroneous. There are some 31,000 scientists who have concrete information that totally and undisputedly refutes Mr. Gore's claims, lies, and hypocrisy. It is time that we abandon the feel-good political correctness movement that has subjugated our country to a less that potent power and influence in this world, and the first step is to employ Americans by drilling for the unending supplies of oil that lie beneath our soil, both on land and off shore. Tell the "tree huggers" to take their erroneous lies and propaganda elsewhere and insert it where the sun doesn't shine. Build refineries while seeking alternative energy sources and insist that the car makers go hybrid to both conserve fuel and lower emissions. PUT AMERICANS TO WORK!

Let's go, representatives! It is now time to re-prioritize. You have subverted the intent of the Constitution of of this country I served by making politics a lucrative career instead of serving the will and needs of your constituents. Get real. Get serious. Get busy on meaningful issues, Mr. Specter, Mr. Casey, Mr. Murphy,et al.

We don't care anymore about the New England Pats stealing opposing coaches' signals, Arlen. We DO care about our country going to hell in a hand basket while you bask in the sun and reap intolerable benefits at our expense.

  131. Drilling in Anwar only makes sence to most Americans, unfortunately our representatives in Congress are completely disconnected with the will of the people. They are at the mercy of the Conservationists and their own personnal agenda. God help us all.

  137. YOU HAVE TO BE CRAZY NOT TO LET THE OIL COMPANIES DRILL FOR OUR OWN OIL & BUILD NEW REFINERIES! WHY SHOULD WE SUBMIT OURSELVES TO DICTATORS AND THUGS WHEN WE HAVE OUR OWN RESOURCES HERE AT HOME? QUIT KISSING THE LIBERAL TREE HUGGERS BUTTS!!!!

  139. Renewables and alternative energy will play a key part of our energy portfolio in the future, but we need relief until that happens. Open up the drilling, let U.S. oil companies do what they do best, produce oil. It can be done in an environmentally secure manner. Not only in ANWR, but offshore areas as well. Americans want results out of our government, it's time to start producing some!

  147. When headlines read "Oil hits $135 a barrel on new supply concerns " (May 22, 2008), then that means we need more oil. It is not the Oil Companies that are at fault for high gas prices. It is the low supply of oil and gas. We can not increase the supply of oil unless we drill for our own oil (or plead with Mieast countries to pump more oil). In addition, we cannot increase the supply of gas without building new refineries. We can responsibly drill for our own oil and not damage the environment.

Also, we want independence from foreign oil and eventual independence from fossil fuels. The only way that we may be able to have energy independence (or close to it) is to drill our own oil while we develop our alternatives.

Please vote to allow drilling in ANWR, the Gulf of Mexico, and to build new refineries ASAP.

  153. It is high time that we stop being dependent on other countries, especially ones so unstable and anit-American. Additionally, it is also time for us to stop allowing OPEC to determine how much we pay for gas. Third, and most importantly, we must IMMEDIATELY cease this misuse of our food supply for the creation of ethanol. Although it is common sense to most of Americans, apparently it is not to our law makers, that messing with our food supply is detrimental to our survival. Please start drilling in ANWR now! We can all say that it should have been done 10 years ago, but we cannot look to the past. It is now time to take our own destiny into our hands, and do so responsibly.

  157. We need to set action in motion NOW to be able to drill in ANWAR within the next 7 years. Likewise, for the oil off our coasts. How much longer is our government going to sit on their hands, while developing countries like India and China pass our great nation by. Let's make this country more energy efficient like Brazil. We have the resources in Alaska, Colorado, the Dakotas, Pennsylvania and off our own coastlines to substantially reduce the need of foreign resources to make this country run on all cylinders. Why don't you elected officials for once listen to the people who elected you instead of the lobbyist groups who try to cater your vote. If you do as the people ask, I think the hard working blue collar people of Pennsylvania will look to you more as leaders for the people rather than politicians full of hot air and smoke screens.

  159. Dear Congress,
It's incredibly obvious you care nothing about the plight of 'commoners' who pay the taxes you needlessly throw around. Even more obvious is your desire to destroy this free-market economy and plunge this country backwards in time. The fact that we have to sign this petition at all is proof-positive that your liberal environmental policies hold this great nation hostage. You have achieved your American Dream and now you will destroy ours in the name of Socialist power? You think we can't see the global change hoax you perpetuate upon us?
Please be advised, not all of us will passively take this 60's garbage you ram down our throats. There is a ground-swell raging in the peasants who serve on your manor. Your time is coming.
Consider this a wake-up call - we're sick and tired of paying the price for your power obsession. The worst part is your form of government doesn't even work!! Not even for those of you at the top.
You completely underestimate the anger you will face as the people you oppress realize you're destroying our way of life!
Take oil in Iraq as partial payment for 'freedom services rendered' and military loss of life and Drill, you sick socialists, DRILL!!

  163. It is ridiculous that we American Citizens have to pay these outrageous gas prices when we have oil we can drill for, instead of relying on Saudi oil. We as a government have made our selves rely on them and that puts us in a vulnerable position. Middle East isn't going to fight us in a physical battle, they know they cannot possibly win it. However they are intelligent enough to know that the best battle to fight us in, is our pockets. And guess what, they are succeeding. Raising oil so high causes trucking companies to raise prices, therein causing stores to raise prices. When are you going to quit allowing this to go on? I am so concerned about my grandchildrens future. If I can see this happening, then why can't you?

  167. Stop worrying about what the animal rights people say or the environmentalist say. Why do you always need to make sure everything is ok with everyone? Well depending on Foreign oil is not ok with me! We have an abundance that we are sitting on and for what reason?
