  3. Drill! Drill in ANWR, on the COASTAL SHELF, GOV'T CONTROLLED LAND, and let the people that produce energy produce it. All the elected elete, that continue to bar corporate america from doing there thing, has put the country in the dependent state it is in. This is not a political item with the US, it is the future of the country as we know it.

  5. When China can drill 50+ miles off American shores then, by your actions, you appear to want American Citizens to buy our crude/refined oil from China.

You are supposed to represent the United States of America.
You are supposed to conduct the "People's Business".
You are the Voice of "WE THE PEOPLE".
You have failed in your office.

Your place in the history of this Great Experiment, is assured.

    Shame on you.

  7. Wind, and the sun will not power a three trillion dollar economy. If you do not do your job, and stop having your puppet strings pulled by extemist environmentalists, the people of this country will know who to blame for the current oil prices in November. Stop using the false argument, that the evil oil companies are gouging us. We need our own supply, and you and the extremists are standing in the way.We have coal, nuclear, and domestic oil to tap.
Do your job, and let the oil companies drill for domestic supply!

  9. Please open up domestic drilling and exploration here in the US. Including the continental shelf, midwest shale opportunities and most importantly ANWR.

  11. No new refineries built in 30 years, but a number of refineries closed. Proven reserves in Alaska and the coastal areas of our own country. But do not drill because there MAY be some threat to the animals. Animals, fish and bugs are important, but are not our own people more important? It will take up to 10 years to get the new systems on line, but if we do not start now and wait 10 more years, we will only be in worse shape.

Windfall profit taxes will not work. They will only hurt the people more. I am a Certified Public Acountant and understand the relationship between taxes and the economy. Do not punish us more with additional taxes.

Work on alternative systems for the intermediate and long term, but work on the short term by harvesting the resources we have now.

Nuclear energy. I see part of the problem and cost of building a plant is the constantly changing of plans and systems. Why not use the blueprints of a successful plant and REQUIRE that all plants be built to that standard?

All systems - oil, alternative, nuclear, or whatever is to be developed - will require that the environmentalist and greenies be understood but overridden to the good of our people and country.

We cannot afford to continue sending our money and resources to countries that want to destroy us.

  15. I feel it is imperative for you to agree on drilling in ANWR. We can not continue to allow our economy to go down the tubes like this. My husband has a gas station and like many little independent stations we are having a tough time making a go of it.

We need to take a stand and let the oil countries know WE MEAN BUSINESS! WE ARE SURVIVORS and we WILL get through this difficult time.

Allow the use of OUR natural resources.

  19. Let's cut the baloney and clear the way for drilling in ANWR and other domestic sources. Stop the petty politics and focus on what is in the best interest for this country. This should have been done 10 years ago and Washington let America down. Stop the partisan BS and get the job done.

  21. How many voices will never be heard because they dont know how to be?
Those that claim to want security and prosperity for this, "Once great nation", are only helping to further the destruction and corruption from within. We are a nation who relies on possible threats to keep the wheels of our enormouse machine turning. What will happen when those we relie on turn into our enemies? We will be crippled! Like a pack of hunters with no more weopons, we as a country will be starved into defeat. An effect created and caused by the very people that claim to be the answer and hope for America's future.

You'r Average hard working, underpaid American,

It's dead in those who have come to believe that preservation comes from the government. Don't be an enabler of this misguided belief. Live up to your oath of office which includes your obligation to uphold the Constituion of the United States.

  27. Congress,
    Senate and House of Representative,

Your approval rate is in the single digit, perhaps its time to LISTEN to the PEOPLE! We need to drill now, here and be oil independent.
STOP following the environmentalists, we are the can do nation. We can drill safely in ANWR, the GULF or anywhere else we care to drill, it will be safe.
Truly, those of you who do not support the efforts of permitting our oil companies to drill now, build a refinery, will not be in office the next time the PEOPLE VOTE!!!!!
PS There is no global warming, read the info from scientists and NOT Al Gore.

  29. How about doing the right God Damn thing for America for a change, and approve for drilling off shore and in Alaska? And to hell with the friggin polar bears, the caribou, and the fiddler crab, not to mention the lunatics at Greenpeace and the Sierra Club. We Americans have had it with you morons! Both Republican and Democrat. Get a God Damn clue, would ya?

  31. Dear Sir,

We have to drill in our own country before the world passes us by or buys us out because of all the money we pay them for energy. Alternative fuels will NEVER fill the need in the forseeable future. Please don't let the liberal tree huggers hog tie America's future. There is no man made global warming. We can be careful with the environment while still using it.

    Drill Here !! Drill Now!!

Sir, I demand, ( Yes ), Demand that the United states Government cease and desist from any blockage at all levelsfrom allowing the FREE!!!!!!!!! people of this nation to pursue our own natural resources. The government has no buisness, listening to enviromental marxists. The oil industry is not guilty of taking , so called wind fall profits. Oil compannies reinvest in research, exploration and refining.
the following is the definition of wind fall profits.

Wind fall profits , ( profit gained , from the taxation, or usurptation of profits from an individual, or corporation that performs a servive , or good that the public needs or wises to purchase for the common good. The united States government , In no way ontributes to the exploration , developement or refining of petroleum products!!!!!!
Dear Sir, I would like YOU to find in the United States Costitution Where the government is allowed to own property. All land in this nation is to be owned by those that can pay for it, NOT YOU!!!!!

  37. I'm a Social liberal, Fiscal conservitive, and I have been to Alaska and Prudoue Bay Its an unbelivable State...

The realities are that we have to be energy independant no I say we MUST be energy independant....

I talked at length with the oil field engineers and being a civil engineer myself I could understand the methods that are and would be applied to the drilling process and tactics of exploration.

We can drill here and make minimal impact....we have been drilling here for years

We must do a better job of educating the public, before its really to late

  43. Thank you for your careless disregard that has allowed the enviromental movement to bring this nation to the state we are in today. Congress has given too many of it's powers to faceless agencies in our government that do not act in our best interest and to the courts as well. Please stand up and do your constitutional mandate with a hands on attitude - like most of this country's work force.

Please do what you can to encourage oil well and refinery development on as many acres of our country as possible and to expand our nuclear power capabilities and coal conversion to gasoline. Alternatives are currently not viable for maintaining our country's needs.

Thank you in advance for considering a useful and immediate approach to keeping our country strong.

  45. To my representitives in Washington,
I cannot understand why we are not drilling for our own oil. I am asking you to serve my interests by allowing drilling in places like Anwar and off the Florida coast. I also cannot support punishing oil companies for making a profit when the goverment gets more per gallon of gas than the oil companies do. You should know that I am an enviromentalist but I understand that with current technology a bill could be drafted that would get Americans the fuel we need and protect the envirment at the same time. I like many of my nieghbors are being hit with a one-two punch of high gas prices and growing food costs. If you are truly here to represent my interests you will unlock the hold you have on responsible oil exploration and allow to eat an ear of corn without taking out a second mortgage.

  47. In 1973 we had the Arab oil embargo. Then the USA was 30% dependent on foreign. In the next 35 years, you leaders established no real energy policy except giving more power to EPA. The last US oil refinery opened in 1976. From 1981 to 2005 the number of US oil refineries have decreased from 324 to 148 (and yes that equates to closing of 176 refineries). Today we are 60% dependent on oil.

You leaders need to free up America's lands and oceans for more drilling and certainly in ANWR. You and previous cohorts bear a BIG responsibly for our current energy crisis.

Building a refinery from starting thru applying to permitting takes a minimum of 10 years. In 1995 Pres Clinton wouldn't permit drilling in ANWR with the statement --"Why it will be 10 years before we see anything." Well 13 years have passed, folks. And now look!

You all need some good technical advisors in Wash DC. BS and Rhetoric isn't going to solve our energy dilemna!

Oil companies make a lot but spend a lot. Currently I am doing two projects worth $55 million for personnel safety at an oil refinery. I did a scrubber project a few years back---$65 million to clean the air. Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) was very costly in capital outlay to meet the environmental criteria. None of these projects resulted in more products, higher octanes or higher yields. So don't blame the oil companies!!!

By the way I have a degree in Chemical Engineering (Purdue), am a registered Professional Engineer and my title is Senior Process Engineer.

  49. How long is Congress going keep America chained as slaves to foreign oil when we have our own just waiting to be recovered by US Companies?????????? Drill in ANWR, Drill off our Coasts, Drill in Colorado, and start pumping from exisiting wells right here in PA. Maybe its time to vote out those in Congress who want to keep us enslaved to foreign energy and vote in those who want us use our own!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  51. As a citizen of the United States, I demand the right to use all of the resources on federal land, including mineral rights that can be safely extracted. The citizens of the country have a vested need for the oil in ANWR, so it is time to let drilling start. This should also apply to off-shore areas and reserves in the Dakotas and allow shale-oil extraction.
  52. This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

  53. I would appear that after checking all the facts that the number 1 reason gasoline costs so much is because Congress won't do their job which is protecting the United States and it's citizens by letting American oil companies drill for our own oil. Congress would rather have their palms greased by special interest groups like the Sierra Club, the World Wildlife Fund and other environmental groups. A vote against drilling in Alaska's ANWR is a vote for America's enemies. The Democrats stated in 2006 that they had a plan to bring down the price of oil. Since then, the price has doubled. That's some plan Ms. Pelosi. I hold in ineptly run Democrat controlled Congress responsible for the high fuel prices. No one else.

  55. To deny access to this recourse is to give aid and comfort to our enemies. To deny this countries dependence on oil, is foolishness.
Until such time that alternative energy is available is sufficient quantities, drilling for oil is in the best interest of the United States. I don't care if its in Anwr, off the coast or in your or my back yard.
    Drill now.

We have so much oil and the Dummycrats are the real dipsticks!!!!
The Dummycrats should stop working against us.
I cringe every time I go to the gas station.
How am i supposed to feed my family when gas is at $4.00 a gallon?
The idiots who blame Bush for this are pathetic. They go and buy $4.00 a coffee at Starbucks
without a problem and say that Bush is costing them everything!

  63. As your constituent I implore you to support domestic drilling for oil, be it in ANWR or anywhere else in the United States where feasible. I also implore you to support refinery construction as well as the expansion of nuclear power generation.

Our quest for energy independence should be two-pronged: The short-term goal should be increasing the supply of oil through domestic production. The long-term goal should be the development of viable alternative energy technologies.

Thank you for your time. Your public support of these goals will be remembered by your constituents come election day.

Even if this takes ten years or more to see a benefit, that is every reason to begin...TODAY! You are putting our economy and national security at risk by NOT implementing a plan TODAY!

The pundits keep saying that we can not drill our way out of this mess, and that we aill not see any benefits for 5 years, WELL, if you drill enough wells, we can come close, also if you could PLAN enough for the future to see past the end of your nose, we would not be in this situation NOW. If you had stood up to Clinton years ago, we would be seeing the benefits now. The problem is that if we don't drill NOW we will still be in this situation in 5 years

Let the oil companies do what they do best!

  77. Dear Congress People:

When I researched this issue, I realized the facts by the environmentalist are destorted.

ANWR oil area is very, very small...3.13 acres. For those Congress people who are familar with Allegheny County in Pennsylvania, that is smaller than the South Park which is a county park.

Area 1002 is actually not party of the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge...it is hundred and hundreds of miles away. This is in an area that is tundra...full of ice and misquito infested flatlands in the summer.

The environmentalist have minimized the benefits that area 1002 can bring to the American public.
There is more likely 30 years worth of oil in the area.

The drilling would give the United States almost two generations to develop new energy resources and perfect that investment so we do not have to depend on foreign oil.

The environmentalists claim it would take years to get the oil and build a pipline...The Alaskan pipeline and Perdue Bay are about 200 miles away.

Announcing the new drilling in Alaska will bring oil prices down. This will also increase the value of the dollar.

Knowing how small the area is, this might affect one polar bear's habitat....maybe. The polar bears need a wide range. The caribu are doccumented to living around drilling areas without habitats being destroyed

Pennsylvania economics would benefit by drilling in the area known as ANWR. For example Mine Safety Appliances would obtain contracts from the drilling company and Pennsylvanias dependence (85% presently) on foreign oil would decrease.

These are issues that are overlooked again and again and again. I suspect by November Pennsylvanians will begin voting with their pocketbooks, I know I will. My one vote will be one vote closer to energy independence. When I discuss this issue with others, I point these "true facts" out to people who are disgusted with the increase in oil costs which are increasing our food costs, which can affect people's ability to get to work, which could add to the housing crisis...etc. These are snowball issues. They will get bigger.

PLEASE, stop the political movement of Socialism that the Environmentalist Left are forcing down our throats. Please start drilling off the Gulf Coast and explore the development of shale oil in Western Colorado.

    Please drill in ANWR.

    Respectfully,

    Judith Hughes

  79. You mean to tell me that we can send a man to the moon (30 years ago), but we can't figure out how to drill and process oil economically and environmentally responsibe. I don't believe that for one minute. We don't have time for extreme environmentalism (marxism) now!!

All you have to do is announce that we are going to acuire all forms of oil in this country and then watch the oil prices tumble as speculators run for the high grass.

  83. Please help make us energy independant. I am having to go back to work because of gas prices. This is not due to BIG OIL profits as you well know. Their profits are less than many other industries in the US. The stock holders, including me, will be hurt by urting big oil. I am 57 years old and 100&% disabled. I am unable to pay for anymore taxes either direct or indirect.

Please open up our country to be self sufficent in energy production. Renewawble, and Atomic will come and are needed also.

  85. We need to be engery independant and can do so without endangering the envornment. Technology and awareness will see to that. We have gone over 20 years without any major problmes in Alaska in the current oil fields. Open up our lands and offshore for responsible exploration.

  89. Stop listening to the hippies who account for the very small percentage of of your constituents and start listening to the people who make up the majority! All I hear is how "we care what other other countries feel about us". Well the other countries are laughing at us while they drill off of our coasts but yet we wont do it ourselves. We look like a bunch of jackasses. And if thats how we common citizens look just imagine what that makes the "leadership" of the country look like. With your approval ratings I think you should look at changing who you think you work for and that your strategies arent working. You work for the people not your lobbyists!

  95. I believe it is time for America to be self sufficient. We cannot count on our so called allies, we need to look after our own interests. I am tired of listening to the media say that we have to worry about what the world thinks. Lets drill for our own oil, research shale oil and also look to alternative fuels for the future. The oil companies are not the problem , our own government is. They put too many restrictions on our own industries.

  99. In addition to ANWR, I strongly recommend we re-open drilling off our own coastal shores. I understand other countries are drilling off our shore, why not us? Energy independance is not an environmental concern any more, but rather a national security concern. Let us become independant as we were when this country was first formed.

  103. Please open up offshore drilling and the requested ANWR site to drilling. I'm all for setting reasonable, achievable boundaries, and where those boundaries carry substantial costs the oil company must bear, they should get tax rebates or deductions to help cover those costs.

  109. Although I support the research and development of alternative fuels and or energy sources, I do so only when economically viable. When someone comes up with an alternative fuel that works as well as gasoline and costs less to produce, I will gladly fill my tank with it. Until that day, good old petroleum suits me just fine. The polar bear and the caribou will be okay. I hear they like the heat.

  111. Please explain to me the economic principle of not drilling for American oil and how this will help working class American family's. I am just a truck driver but unlike the Intellectual Midgets in Washington it seems pretty obvious to me, drill for our oil and (1) increases supply bringing down the price of gas, diesel, heating oil, very good for millions of hard working family's (2) creates jobs, High paying jobs, High paying union jobs (3) keep dollars here helping to strengthen the dollar which would help bring prices down (4) OK cheaper energy, lower unemployment, stronger dollar, how could we possibly go in to a recession that our Washington I M's seem hell-bent on putting us into whether we like it or not. Now there are probably a lot of things I missed remember I'm just a truck driver. If you have voted to increase domestic production of oil I thank you. If not what is wrong with you, do you have any idea how much this is hurting working class people, were you not elected to do what is best for your constituents, not a few but the vast majority. Why wouldn't you want cheaper energy costs, good paying jobs for Americans, economic security for our nation.
In conclusion urge all your colleague's to vote for America, Americans and increased domestic oil production.

  113. Nancy Pelosi, needs to give up her tax-payer paid for, airplane, and submit her resignation since she PROMISED that if she got elected as SPEAKER she would in the first one hundred days bring down the cost of gasoline> She lied again. As A Citizen i am asking for others to join me in not voting for any Democrates who standing in the way of our drilling and the best interest of the AMERICAN PEOPLE.Nancy Pelosi and her Ilk are trying to destroy AMERICA and should be made to resign. Maybe if she has to pay for her own car, plane, and gasoline, and insurance she will know how the rest of us live. What happened to the oath of office she and her Co-Horts took to protect and defend our Constitution and Americans. She doesn't care about us only the enemies of America, she should not hold the position she has now. More people need to speak up about this. Her approval rating with Americans is Zero, Maybe Iran would like to have her, she seems to like them better.

  115. Dear Sirs and Madam,

I am writing this to let you know how disgusted I am with the performance that both the house and senate have done regarding getting foreign oil off of our necks. You people should be embarrassed at yourselves. What you have done by not only ignoring the problem, but actually actively hindering the progress of getting away from foreign oil is nothing less than traitorous in my opinion.

I implore you TODAY to allow drilling in ANWR and everywhere else in this country. Remember, YOU WORK FOR ME! Believe me, I haven't forgotten this fact but it seems that all of you, both Democrat and Republican, forgot who you work for. Also remember THIS IS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR LAND, not the governments. Who do you think you are telling us what we can and cannot do with our own land. YOU ARE NOT GOD you are people who are supposed to be doing the work of the people. You have forgotten this. I don't think you people have a clue as to how angry WE THE PEOPLE are.

Get to work and start putting the best interest of our country first, not what special interest groups have paid you for.

  119. How can we not act when China will begin to drill off of our own coast. The United States needs to take control of our own destiny. WE need to drill and process our own supply of oil. Simple laws of supply and demand economics are in play here. If we have our own supply and hold demand at the same, the price of oil will decrease. We can have this oil using American desire and ingenuity faster than 10 years, and have it safely. At the same time, we can continue to explore alternatives, but we need to act now to save our economy. If President Clinton would have acted, we would have oil from ANWR now and would not be in the situation that we are today. If we expect the middle east and Venezuala to help, God be with us. What happened to the American spirit of freedom, reliance on ourselves, and common sense. Congress, please re look at the science. Man made global warming is a fallicy. Many papers that do not fit the politically correct doctrine support that global warming is not man made. See the following link. http://www.petitionproject.org/index.html

You folks forgot what made the USA strong. The Roman Empire fell because the leaders were focused on themselves and what was accomplished IN THE PAST. If anything, think about YOUR children and grandchildren!

Wake up and take one for US and not YOU!!!!!!

I will look forward to your next news letters. Will they continue echo meaningless words, or will you actually be leaders?

  127. Some oppose drilling because it is not a good long term solution. Is it a good for the long run to send billions of dollars in exorbitant oil prices to our enemies while starving our own people of energy? Does it make sense to accuse OPEC of limiting oil production as we prohibit our own people from doing the same?

America uses more energy because it produces more wealth. Energy is a national security issue when we are dependent on our enemies for it. Drill here, drill now.

If you do know, and do not act to do so, you do not deserve to be serving in Congress.

Remove all obstacles for domestic oil exploration and production. There is no alternate fuel that can be produced quickly enough, cheaply enough, and in sufficient quantity to fulfill our energy needs.

  139. The people who understand and value liberty have collectively stood by for too long waiting for a leader to emerge to save us from the folly of (know it all) activist bureaucrats while those who hold the reigns of power foolishly squander the borrowed trillions on social engineering, failed subsidy programs, and a wasteful oversized government. Some of us have lived long enough to see our individual liberties erode into state controlled political correction and forced cooperation with those who are fundamentally opposed to freedom. The advocates of socialism now seem to control everything from our family doctor to our public education system which by the way, now renders some of the most uneducated groups of individuals ever to be labeled graduates. And now, thanks to many in both parties who vowed to uphold and defend the constitution, we are loosing our individual liberty at the fastest rate thus far in our country’s history and paying for its very demise with record federal revenue and appeasement. You, as an elected representative are as responsible as anyone can be for our devalued currency, lack of oil refining capacity and much of the environmental ignorance being played upon by those who wish to disarm and eventually destroy us in a manner reminiscent to purges and other great leaps forward. OIL IS THE LAST STRAW! It is what built the high standards of living that we have. If you choose to sit by and allow socialists like Maxine Waters to destroy America’s oil industry, it will be the end of America and the end of you. There is absolutely no logical reason why we shouldn’t use our own resources from ANWR or anywhere else. STOP this destructive idiocy before it ruins our country.

  145. It is time to stop all the talking and time to take action. If this country is to overcome the current energy crisis and $4.00 or more gasoline per gallon we need to be able to utilize our own resources. This means that in addition to developing alternative energy sources(best left to private enterprise) we need to start building refineries, drilling for oil in Anwar, off of the coasts, and any reserves detected in the continnental United States, this includes shale oil which I understand is bigger than all the reserves in the Middle East. We also can use coal to oil as the military is already doing. We have the technology to keep it clean and to not harm the environment. We had all these scares about environmental damage and destroying the Elk and Caribou when the Alaskan Pipeline was built and the results have been not only did they survive but their numbers increased dramatically. We have cleaned up the pollution of coal generating power plants and if you feel that isn't an option then we need to build more Nuclear Power Plants. Think of the jobs that will be created as we do all of this.

Working with those who find and develop our energy sources instead of lambasting them is the way we will get through the current crisis.

  147. Please, it is time that our Representatives quit this bickering and hurting our economy. It is time that we quit with what you think is best for us. We are not children. Let us drill, give us Solar, Wind and Nuke Power Plants.
Do you really think we look good or just plain stupid by allowing the rest of the world to go ahead of us?
I am so concerned that Congress is playing games. We hired you for a job. As they say in the real world, either do the job or step aside and let someone do it for you. Why, the Senate can't even run their own food stores properly and you want us to trust you, as to what you are doing with our economy and full supply. Please, get on the ball, as of right now neither party has a good person for President and we totally hate being told what is best for us when all it seems the Congress does is investigate and waste money, just do your job.
I truly believe that if President Roosevelt had this Congress, we would have lost WW2 and would be speaking some other language or at the least the British would be speaking German.
    Thank you.

  149. Our environmental concerns need balanced between economics and politics.

By becoming energy self reliant, the US can create new revenue sources within our existing economy. Additionally, we can improve our Global image by not being so desperate for energy.

Unfortunately, without financially encouraging oil exploration, and energy self reliance, the United States will be not be a world power within 50 years.

I am tired of hearing all the lies and dumb excuses why we americans can not drill for our own oil. I say to drill in ANWR AND EVERYWHERE, for that matter or this will be remembered in the voting booth. I don't consider myself a political person, in any way, but when i see how much money i have to spend for the necessity of driving my car, I can usually relate it to some type of government stupidity. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH! DRILL IN AMERICA- NOW!!!!

  159. The United States does not have a viable energy policy. Energy prices are held captive by overseas suppy controlled by OPEC and the domestic environmental lobby that prevents any access to proven supplies of oil, oil shale, natural gas, or low sulpher coal. I do not believe the mantra "we cannot drill our way to energy independence". We can and must immediately begin recovering domestic oil and natural gas from the Arctic, the continental shelf, and the Western United States. We must begin expanding our refining capacity and overcome the continuous lawsuits from the environmental lobby and special interests. We must increase the percentage of electricity provided by nuclear power.

There is no one solution to becoming energy independent. It must be a combination of conservation, domestic production, and free market research and development. We cannot sit back and pin our hopes, nor our nation's security, soley on unproven solar, wind or biomass technologies, or mythical unrealistic increases in conservation. These can be a part of an overall strategy but only when combined with an immediate increase in oil production. I do not believe that increased drilling will not have an impact for 10 years or more. If we had drilled in ANWAR in 1995 we would have over 1 million barrels of domestic production today. Any increase in supply or a signal that we are serious about increasing supply will have a positive impact on lowering prices.

It is time to get over the partisanship and slavish obedience to special interest groups. Get a realistic energy policy in place now.

  161. If President Clinton had signed the drilling bill in 1996 instead of vetoing it, we would not be where we are now. We need to use our resources. President Bush is ready to sign. Nancy Pelosi is the hold up now. She won't allow the bill to be introduced to the House. I have to believe by not letting us drill here, you the congress are trying to break us financely. You are telling us that you want us totally dependent on you. We can look for alternative fuel, but in the meantime DRILL. Remember, this congress has a lower rating than our president. Appearantly you are not doing what the people want. You need to remember that we are your boss. You are working for our needs, not us working for your agenda. WAKE UP!

  163. Ignoring the future benefits of drilling in ANWR and our own Gulf coast is ignorant of the needs of our future. We need to begin agressive drilling in ANWR and wherever it can be found.

I would also like to add that not only is finding our own oil important, but creating the capacity to refine it is as well. Let's get more refineries.

Also as an immediate effect to relieve the pressure of rising prices, eliminate the refining of all but 3 basic grades of gasoline. We do NOT designer refinements that can be used only in one part of the country. Let's get back to 3 (or even better, 2) basic grades of gasoline for EVERYONE! so that we can have more to go around now.

  167. I realize that even if we start drilling now we may not see results for another 10 years, but I am sure that if we announce we are going to start drilling OPEC will get nervous and drop prices or increase production (which will also drop prices) now. We must start drilling our own reserves or history teachers in the future will look back at this time and say "The collapse of America could have been avoided if they had only drilled for the oil they had on their own land." For the first time I'm scared for what the future holds for my children. China, Canada, etc., right now are drilling 60 miles off of our coastline and the environmentalists won't let us. I'm sorry but this is UNACCEPTABLE! START DRILLING OUR OWN NATURAL RESOURCES NOW!!
