  3. Why are you giving our country away? I thought you was elected to serve and protect our country and our citizens. Let us drill for our own oil, open up new oil fields, and allow more exploration. Please get off your duffs and get it done. Also secure our borders and quit giving away our rights to illegals and to the ARABS. I will remember come election time what you have done for or what you have not done for the citizens of our great nation. To bad most of you forgot about us tax payers, you know the ones who put you there in first place and pay your salarys. DRILL, DRILL, DRILL

  5. Yes we most drill in ANWR and other location in the U.S. We also need to build new refinery's. Plus you need to put a stop to these speculators driving up the prices of Oil. We need to do something soon, there is no reason that we should have to depend on other counties for Oil when we have plenty of OIL in the U.S.

  7. We need to use our own resources, and stop relying on other countries who would rather see us dead!

Were has all the common sense gone?

We also need a petition to stop the red tape and allow refineries to be built.

As another great american ( Earl Pitts) once said, WAKE UP AMERICA!

  13. Dear Sirs,
Unfortunately, it looks as if our representatives in Washington, D.C. have forgotten who pays their salaries. Our founding fathers designed this country so the people would have the greater power, not the government, but things seem to have gotten turned around lately.
I think I speak for many people in this country when I say that our patience is wearing thin and the nonsense that is going on in our federal, state and local governments is going to have to cease.
This is not yet a socialist country. This is the United States of America; the greatest country this planet has ever seen and we're not going to turn it over to a handful of power-hungry, God hating marxists without a fight.
I volunteered to go to Vietnam in 1969. I felt it was my responsibility as an American to fight wherever a peoples' freedom was threatened. I still believe that I made the right choice in going there but the socialists back home wouldn't let us win in Vietnam and the same forces have been fighting for our defeat in Iraq today.
Now the fight for freedom is here. The freedom that we've loved, fought and died for is being taken away one little bite at a time. It's like being nibbled to death by ducks.
We have enough oil, natural gas, coal, etc., to take care of our energy needs for years to come. Alternative sources of energy will replace them eventually, but until that happens, it's our right as a people to use whatever resources we have and anyone in government that says otherwise is a traitor.
We are America. This is our country. There is an evil that is trying to take control but we're not going to let that happen.

  15. i think that it is long overdue . i am constantly complaining about my two senators doing business as usual in washington, blaming the energy woes of this great country on everyone but themselves. its time for cantwell and murray to quit being obstructionists, quit catering to the enviornmentalists, and start drilling for oil like our economic future depended on it, start building nuclear power plants as if the lights just went out. i just dont know what to do anymore, you two senators should be ashamed of yourselfs, stop being self serving, and start treating this as the "manhatton project" of our time.

  17. Stop pretending that you can schedule inventions to replace oil as a fuel. If that is meant to be, it will happen. In the meantime, DRILL !!!!!!!!!!!

I was just in a PA state park on vacation. Enjoyed it thoroughly and the oil rigs here and there didn't ruin anything. Saw plenty of animals. Nature has a way of overcoming our technology. Look around!

PS - In case you forgot, guys like me pay your salaries.

  25. How can you not let us drill for our own oil? The Chinese sit off the Gulf Coast and drill for the oil that we could be getting. The vast majority of Americans want us to drill and YOU and keeping us from doing it.
Get off your fat ass and get it done. YOU WORK FOR US OR DID YOU FORGET THIS?

  29. IT'S SUPPLY AND DEMAND STUPID, and now the American public knows how truly dumb you are....suing OPEC, what a bunch of idiots, and you are the people that think you should control our healthcare! SOCIALIST jerks! Between oil prices and the SCAM of man-made global warming, you people should be tried for treason, impeached, and removed from any kind of public office. DRILL AND REFINE!!!!!! And you wonder why your rating is 18% approval, the president makes you look like the weiners you are, even with him at 30%. Not to mention, the promise of lower gas prices by the Communist (Democrat) Party 2 years ago....yea, only idiots voted for you, no wonder you want to run our school system....more dumbing down of America, and make them reliant on the government...glad I enrolled my kids in a private school! Sen. Casey, are you getting this? What an empty suit you are, real nice new direction...no wonder the voters in our country have so much apathy for you weasels in government. Yea, I'm venting, and you deserve every word of it, now, send me that tired letter all of you send saying "you'll keep my views in mind", what a joke!

  31. I'm sure Congress could care less how the American public struggles to make ends meet with the price of energy going up all the time. The only upside i can see in this mess that we have allowed to happen because we have failed to curb the growth of goverment, is when the meltdown comes maybe enough of us will remain to help guide the next incarnation of our society so they will not repeat our mistakes.

  33. It is time to stop playing political games with the billionaire enviromentalists (few) and vote for the people (many) who vote for you. The longer you wait, the more the many will wake up and decide to take action against those who don't vote for their best interests.
We need to drill for our own oil and be self sufficient from countries who hate us. This is not the USSA yet.

  35. Drill in ANWR. It's our land. It's our oil reserve. It's our supply to free us partially from depending on foreign oil. Damn the environmentalists!

  37. I don't care if we drill in my backyard, we need local sources. It's supply and demand. Until demand decreases, we need increased supply!

  39. Someone in this government of ours, The United States of America, needs to step up and put a stop to the excessively high prices we are currently paying for fuel, and the extremely excessive prices we have yet to see. Instead of everyone doing nothing, SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING. The average consumer has yet to witness the total impact the extrememly high fuel prices are going to have on everything that is purchased, from fuel, to food, to utilities, to services such as child care, and everything and anything else you can think of. All one needs to do is figure out how much they are actually spending for fuel for their own use, and then realize just what transportation costs are for trucks to deliver goods for them to purchase. I can use my own job as an example. Last year at this time, to deliver the goods for the company I work for, my vehicle used aproximately $250 to $300 per week in fuel. Right now, the same vehicle, on the same route is using $650 to $700 per week. This country is not headed for a recession, it is headed for an ECONOMIC COLLAPSE.

  41. There is a contingent of American Citizens who are paying very close attention to the increasingly ridiculous actions of our elected officials. When we mobilize, there will be no chance for excuses that they have been acting in the best interest of the American citizen and economy. We will be making our point at the ballot box and with our dollars. We are tired of the lack of common sense displayed that is wrecking our economy. American resources for Americans First. They have a small window still available to do what is right.

  45. As a newly graduated Doctor of Chiropractic, I would love to rather pay off my student loan rather than wondering how I can afford to fill up my 10 year old car. Drill in ANWR so that our country can have energy independence.

  47. OPEC has to be laughing their asses off knowing that we are sitting on more oil reserves in the United States than in the Arab nations and we are stupid enough to allow a few liberal conservationists to block further drilling for our own oil and natural gas. I actually worked at one time at Prudhoe Bay on the North Slope of Alaska. I was responsible for implementing a safety and environmental plan for BP's contractors working on the slope. You can not believe how concerned BP and ARCO are on preserving this land. When the pipeline was first constructed, the liberals said that it would threaten the carobou. Now they're thriving. Wake up America. Let's use our own resources. Clinton once said that it would take 10 years to bring ANWR on line. Well, guess what. It's been ten years and we're still relying on OPEC.

  49. Attention Congress. You work for us. It's time to abandon the 60's Green philosophy. Yes, we need to be clean and safe, but the technology is much different now than way back then. We can drill clean and safe with hardly any footprint. This WILL NOT KILL THE CARIBOU. Please back legislation to open up ANWR for oil production.

  53. Its our oil or more specifically, Alaska's oil. But you'll let us keep paying $4+ for gas when we have our own supply? Even if we just announce that we are going to drill the gas prices will plummet. Are the few enviromentalists exaggerated fears (they always scream doom & gloom) worth the rest of the nation suffering?
Face it sir, we are not going to have an alternative that is price competetive for years.
Let's drill and create some American jobs as well as keep many others.
PS I'm a "sane" enviromentalist like Teddy Roosevelt was not like today's limosene/Lear Jet enviromentalists like Gore and Robert Kennedy.

  59. Why are we allowing a minority of tree hugging liberals ruin our country? We need to be drilling our own oil and natural gas plus building refineries. We don't need to be paying foreign countries for oil at highly inflated prices so they can wreck our economy. Wake up! Drill here now, pay lower prices, stay away from foreign oil!!!!!!!!!!

  61. Bout time congress began working with us, instead of against us. Throughly disgusted with congressional overreach / performance.

On a different subject, schools, we'll know you're serious when you become proponents of competition verse unions, in the meantime we'll continue to lose the edge, spending more and learning less.

No more demagoguing identity politics ok, it serves no one.

Just a reminder, federal representatives are supposed to represent ALL Americans and legislate within the limits of the constitution to protect individual liberty and freedom. You weren't elected to the state legislature, you were elected to represent ALL Americans, and it's not about what the mob/majority wants, not when it infringes upon someone else's rights. It ain't about preferential rights, it's about equal rights. Please keep it in mind.

  63. Senators and representatives,

Remember who you work for! We the people
Everytime we are forced to buy oil or gas from another country we see the poor planning of our government of the past. Everytime you refuse to let America drill for our own oil or increase refinery capacity you compound the bad ideas of those who were elected before you.
Alternative energy and new inovation will be the way of the future, but remember, oil is not only used for our cars and trucks. It is the life blood of thousands of products and processes.
By not helping America offset the world demand by not expanding our own production will cost Americans more and more money. I gauantee you if that happens, you will all loose your jobs.

  65. I have as much respect for wildlife as any American does. But I think we've reached a point where our backs are against the wall and we need to act fast to ensure the future of this great nation for our children. I implore you, please undo the burdensome restrictions on drilling in the Anwar protected regions as soon as possible. I recognize that any drilling will be done with the utmost respect for the surroundings and will provide for a safe and unobtrusive operation. Please do what's right for America.

  69. I lived and worked in Alaska for 14 years. I have worked in the Prudhoe Bay and Kapurak fields on the North Slope. We have proved that we can produce oil and still be good stewards of the environment. It is time to stop pandering to the special interest groups and do what is best for the country. At the very least you need to go up and see for yourself the area that is being called a "pristine wilderness" and educate yourself. We need leaders that will stand up and do what needs to be done and not a bunch of sheep in congress that will be herded in the direction that special interest groups want them to go. Quit worrying about losing the next election and start worrying about losing this country!

  75. For America to deprive itself of it's own natural resources borders on insanity. This coupled with a self-destructive sociological trend perpetrated by Senators and Congressman with blinders on will send this American ship down while the propagators stand just above water smiling and waving saying, "See, we were right, believe in us." Their water soaked words will continue to preach their mantra as their breath is replaced by water. Also, the alarmist's global warming myth which is shoved down our throats by the liberal media puts our society in such jeopardy as to wonder if, and when, we can ever recover from the economic implosion that is evident. Drill, for God and America's sake, people. Drill, drill & drill again.

  77. Drill!!!!!!!!!!!!! Drill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Drill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Drill in ANWR, Drill off of the coast. Drill everywhere you can put a hole. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Then build new refineries ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It may not help right away but if you had gone this route when Dick Cheney suggested it 8 years ago we would not be in this mess.

  85. We no loger can depend of foreign oil and on third world countries to determen the prosparity of America. Please represent the MAJORITY of Americans and do something for the country and vote for new oil drilling in America. DRILL ON U.S. SOIL- if for nothing else for the national defence of the country. The EPA and other tree huggers have done an exceelent job of making us dependant on oil from other third world countries. Enough is Enough.
  86. This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

  87. I don't understand why you don't allow oil companies to drill in ANWR. The economic benefits greatly outweigh any possible danger to the local wildlife. The occurance of mistakes is rare; moreover, while we debate the SWOTT's of allowing drilling other countries are drilling just miles off our coasts. The same dangers are present with this drilling and if an accident happens is less likely to be corrected properly due to the distance from each home country leaving us (the USA) to clean up the mess anyway. In a global economy, it is the country that drags its feet when making decisions for its own country that suffers recession, decreased national value and falls in the ranks of global economic power.

With the drilling in ANWR, a national progression will come quickly. The price of oil (more importantly GAS) will drop to a reasonable level. This will stimulate the economy by allowing more money to be spent in the economy. It allows more people to travel supporting our countries tourism. Finally, it gives the public a sense that their government is working to better the country for which many have fought and died to keep us a free country.

  89. The time to tell the middle eastern oil producing country's as well as Venezuala and the insane, sympathetic environmentalist movement in this Country to pound sand has come and gone. 73% to 75% of the American population approve's of oil production and exploration here in our Country.
When are you the ELECTED, going to wake up ?. with each passing month, global warming is continually proven to be the hoax that it really is, junk science looking for politic's and the great unwashed to support it, and You the ELECTED continue to try and pass this marxist garbage onto the population. the anwr " refuge " is nothing more than a swamp, and without wearing a protective bug suit a humanbeing could not exist for more than 3 to 4 hour's before expireing from mosquito bite's.
Please, don't bother to hand me any nonsensical disinformation regarding polar bear's either, this ploy has been debunked as well. drilling here is the answer to several different problem's this Country now face's, as well, drilling can be done in an environmentally freindly manner. and if you, the ELECTED, continue to turn the proverbial blind third eye away from the United State's Of America's capability to become increasingly less dependent on foreign oil, then it's high time to ELECT representative's that will wholeheartedly support exactly what 73% to 75% of the population
    want's, regarding energy independence.

Oh yeah, one more thing. when are you the ELECTED, going to absorb and understand the fact that the Constitution Of The United State's Of America Clearly Is Not A Living Document ?.

    GOD BLESS AMERICA

  93. Yes sir, you limp wristed, candy assed, girlie man, pantie wastes are obviously working for someone other than the American people. If you say I am wrong, then take a look at your constituency and ask yourself if they are being injured by ever increasing fuel prices. The answer is yes they are. The people who vote for you are being gravely injured by your refusal to allow American oil companies to drill and dig our own oil out of our own ground and oceans.

Get off your ass's now, and allow drilling, not only in Alaska, but wherever we can. We The People are tired of being held subject to a bunch of rag heads who have never created anything, or contributed anything, anywhere, to the advancement of civilization.

    Drill damn it, drill.

  95. I believe that the Democrats should accept the blame for high gas prices. I remember Hitlery, Schummer, and Pelosi promising us that if we Elected Republicans in 2006, we would have to pay $3.00 per gal. of gas. What they failed to tell us is that when we gave them power we will be payig $4.00 to $5.00 per gallon. $3.00 now seems to be a bargin!! The problem is Pelosi and her minions are beholding to the enviorMENTALists.

Contrary to a minority belief, the US can and should drill our way out of the current oil crisis and it is nothing short of madness that we have not already. I urge you to help change the attitude in Washington for the sake of the US economy and for the sake of the nation's defense.

  103. Stop funding terrorism and drill in ANWR, drill in our shale deposits, drill off our coasts, build some refinaries, eliminate the seasonal blends since man made global warming is a myth. The one fact that should end the argument is we've had more than one ice age on this planet, therefore we have had more than one global warming period on this planet, all before modern man existed. Wake up America! Coal mine fires in China (there are many more across Asia) each year release 360 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, as much as all the cars and light trucks in the United States, but the federal government wants to buy into (that would be with our tax dollars) the carbon credit debacle.

I could go on, but I need to get back to raising my children and teach them the truth...

second it will stop empowering those who seek to destroy our way of life , when we buy middle eastern oil we send our money to people who support terrorist either directly or indirectly if we dont buy there oil they dont get money to finance there jihad
we need to start drilling in anwr and off shore as well thank you.

  107. I currently know of no one who has vacationed in ANWR nor do I know of anyone planning to vacation there. I cannot understand the legislators' hesitation to drill for the huge reserves of oil there It's not like we are destroying the Hawaiian Islands! Drilling in the area would improve the economy for the locals as well as increasing our own oil supply. One of the criticisms of the "Trans-Alaskan" oil pipeline was that the caribou population would diminish. The exact opposite has happened with increased herds of caribou keeping warm along the length of the oil pipeline. Please consider tapping those much needed reserves of oil. Thank you

  111. I would like to request that the govt. withdraw the listing of the polar bear. It shouild not be listed as threatened because the numbers show that it definately is not. Please deny all lawsuits attempting to have the bear reclassified to the endangered species list. There are approvimately 25,000 polar bears today, in 1970 there were approximately 5,000 polar bears. This does not sound like an endangered species if they have multiplied from 5,000 to 25,000. Please look at all the facts before you do anything about reclassification. Also please check with Canadian ministries for their findings on the polar bear. We should be drilling in Anwr and off the coasts as well. We have more oil than the middle east, and need to start drilling for it NOW.

  117. It' really simple! We NEED to drill for oil on our own land. . . NOW! It's the only thing that makes sense.
In doing so we will also not be supporting the business of people that will take their oil profits and turn around and use them to destroy us! WAKE UP!

  119. The time to start drilling for our own oil was 3 decades ago. Why does every other nation get to use their own natural resources?

  121. We expect other countries to increase production of oil. However, we have been very foolish not doing it ourselves. Please use common sense and drill in ANWR!

  123. As a resident of Texas I feel that I must let my feelings on the matter of national energy policy be known. I feel that no stone should be left unturned. I feel that all forms of energy should be on the table, to include wind, solar, and nuclear power. But most importantly I feel that we should not neglect domestic oil and natural gas production. As a conservative, I will not allow the extreme environmental lobby to speak for me nor do I believe it speaks for the nation as a whole. As a texan I feel very strongly that we can and should exploit our natural resources in a safe and wise manner. I know that technology allows us to exploit our natural resources in a manner that is effecient and environmentally sound. I state, emphatically, we need to build more refineries, drill off-shore, and drill in oil shale. But to the point of this pettion, we need to open up the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge to oil exploration and drilling. As stated above, this can be done in a manner that is environmentally sound and gives us the use of needed resources. I have heard the argument that it takes time for oil to reach the market and I am aware that certain people state that it would take up to 10 years for ANWR oil to reach the market. My answer to this is, let us begin it now, so that 10 years from now we are not saying the same thing. I must most respectfully add that if I find that any elected official in my district does not follow through in this matter, I will let my feelings be known through the ballot box.

  127. I have seen the ANWR area and it is a desolate place and the area need to drill and produce our own energy resources will have little or no effect on the area as a whole. I am not asking but demanding that energy exploration and production be started in the ANWR area as will as off the West and Gulf coasts of the as soon as humanly possible.

  129. Consumers in the USA are suffering enough. Congress has the ability to right a wrong, and allow oil companies the freedom to tap domestic oil reserves and increase refining capacity. It can be done in a clean and environmentally friendly way. Please act quickly, and then work to streamline the process in order to provide relief to domestic consumers as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for what you are going to do to help Americans.

  131. I demand action from all Congressional representatives to allow drilling for oil in all sites in the US. It is rediculous that the rest of the world is making every use possible with their resourses and we are allowing the environmental movement to tie our hands using poor science to support their positions. We need refineries and more oil production as soon as possible and we, the American People, are demanding immediate action from our representatives or they will not be representatives much longer.

  133. The time has come for the U.S. Congress to do the right thing for the American People. We must begin to produce our own oil by drilling and refining. We can no longer afford importing our energy needs when we have what need within our own bourders. Congress's inaction and support of environmental activist is criminal and needs to stop. The American people are suffering and Congress is doing nothing. It's not the oil companies it's Congress and we will make our intentions known at the polls.

  135. Drill for domestic oil. Build refineries and nuclear facilities. We need these things to bridge the gap between now and time when clean energy technology matures and becomes fully capable of serving our country's energy needs!!!! But at this moment, the most pressing issue is energy independence and these measures will go a long way towards securing our country and serving our needs. It's no big secret what needs to be done and it doesn't require a genius IQ to realize it!

    DRILL! and BUILD!

Why are you hurting the American People by not drilling for oil in Alaska . We the people elected you to represent us and we want you to drill in Alaska. Everyone are not in your position where you get every thing handed to you By our taxes. Why should we give our hard earned money to the Sudies Shieks . We work Hard for our money and are payin them all the Money . Also quit sending our money on foriegn aid to the countrys that are speaking badly about this country .
Also vote no on any amistiy bills. We have enough people on welfare that we are paying for.

  143. We refuse to drill off our own coast, but China has no problem taking our oil 45 miles off our coast. If we can't bring ourselves to take our own oil from our own coasts, how about drilling off the coast of China? Personally I see no reason not to be using all the resourses God gave us. We have already proven that drilling in Alaska is good for the wildlife, not to mention the Alaskan economy. Heck, let's drill where the Polar Bears live since the Caribou are thriving wherever there's a pipeline in Alaska! Save the Polar Bears---drill for oil where they live!

  151. ANWR contains enough proven oil reserves to tell the Middle East that we don't need them for at least 30 years. Want to reduce our natinal interests in that unstable part of the world? Drill the 0.001% of ANWR proposed by the President! And while we're at it, drill the Dakotas, the Gulf, off the California shoreline, and PLEASE get more refineries constructed! The oil companies will reinvest their 'obscene profits' if given the chance.

    Thank you.

  153. These gas prices are ridiculous. We have plenty of oil reserves here in the U.S. Ethanol is not the answer. It is a terrbile idea. Kudos to the people that thought of it and are looking at other options, but it is not feesible. Please start drilling in the U.S. where there are known reserves.

  155. The position of not allowing exploration, recovery, and refining of our own natural resources is
criminal. If put to a national vote it would be an overwhelming victory in favor of drilling and mining within the 48 states. Putting the United States on track to become energy independent while alternative energy sources are studied. How could congress block such measures? The arrogance congress shows toward the American public is appalling! How dare you deny The citizens of the country what is rightfully theirs. Every vote against exploration puts more and more americans onto hard times! And please don't give me the big Oil speech,I don't buy it. Especially when The goverment makes larger profits than the oil companies on gas taxes for doing nothing. I hear time and time again how we have to become energy independent. Well the only way to do that is to drill! We have no other viable energy source to keep the the nation solvent and prosporous. I hear time and time again from this delegation about helping the poor! When was the last time a poor man gave you a job? Free our energy supply so "OUR" country can prosper. Wealth is the only solution to porverty. Simple logic. Vote for drilling. Do the right thing. There is no other viable options. Green
energies are in their infancy, are too small scale to help us out of the jam this counrty is in,and it is never really any presidents fault that their energy policies fail. It is congress that fails the country!

  157. Dear Senator or Congressman, I have signed this petition in the hope that "We The People" still have a voice in matters concerning the welfare of ourselves, our neighbors, and our country. If you are one of the multitude of politicians opposing drilling in ANWR and Off-shore for that matter, I have to ask is there any price too high for gasoline, diesel, natural gas, home heating oil, etc. to reach for you to change your mind? Perhaps you are more beholding to the enviromentalist (they seem to wield more power in this country than a Senator or a Congressman such as yourself) or do you still answer to your constituants and fellow countryman? Don't get me wrong, I love a clean community and countryside, and mistakes concerning the enviroment have been made in the past, however ANWR remaining off limits while the country's economy faces a sure collapse will be on all political heads who oppose any and all means to increase the supply in an attempt to reduce the cost of oil before it is too late. By the way I am of the opinion that no country on this earth is more enviromentally responsible and friendly than this great nation of ours, however the enviroment should not be a cut our own throats at all costs kind of deal. The time is now for all lawmakers to recognize and to react to the dire consequences this nation faces in not opening all avenues of oil supplies. Thank You.

  163. The United States is still a CAN DO Country !! We can drill and recover our resources anywhere within our boundaries without harming the environment. Plentiful energy will ensure that the wealth
created by and for Americans will ensure a clean, healthy environment !!!! The United States has the cleanest air and water in the world because we have the wealth and resources to clean up after ourselves. Limiting our energy resources will doom the environment to pollution and destruction. Even the government can not fund cleanup if there are no longer jobs and industries to tax for revenues for environmental purposes. Unleash our US Oil Companies to go and get our own energy.
That is the best to serve your country !!

  165. Get off of the Global Warming lie and take care of this country. Or have you forgotton what you were hired to do. I am tired of the weak knees that represent me, as a soldier I will die before I would let my soldiers see me give in to pressure from somebody who is trying to destroy OUR country with judges and fake claims. Will you take charge and once again lead this country out of the self destrution mode the liberals have gladly sent us into? I hope so, because as you have been hired you can be fired.

  167. I find it APPALLING that drilling for our own oil even needs debating! I have 4 points on this subject...

    1) You are the elected leaders of this country (AMERICA) and your job is to make this country (AMERICA) as well as its citizens better off, not worse!

    2) I WILL REMEMBER the names of those that stand up for drilling our own oil as well as those opposed to it!

    3) nobody is against new technologies for powering our great nation (AMERICA), why do WE THE PEOPLE need to suffer by spending more money on fuel until such time comes?

    4) NOT drilling for our own oil is becoming a national security issue!

I DEMAND THAT YOU, AS MY ELECTED LEADER, TAKE ACTION AND SUPPORT DRILLING IN ANWR AS WELL AS OTHER PLACES AROUND THIS GREAT NATION! THIS IS NOT A 10 MILLION PIECE JIGSAW PUZZLE, THE ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM IS REALLY VERY SIMPLE!

  169. You, our leaders, have caused this energy and economic crisis in the U.S. Your years of hindering progress must end. The American people now insist that you stop interfering with the oil companies' ability to meet our needs. You must wake up from this elitist haze that you all seem to be adrift in, and finally understand that lower taxes, less government interference, and the generation of so-called green houses gases are good not only for our economy; but also for society, the environment, and ultimately the world. Lastley, anyone who says, "We can't drill our way out of this problem." is an abject idoit; and should never be in any position of leadership anywhere! The very fact is we
've been asking our oil producing allies to produce more oil (i.e. drill the way out of the problem for us.) They are at maximum capacity while, inconveniently, the world is at maximum consumption. I would definitely say that it's time for us as a nation to step up, take responsibility for supplying our own needs, and start drilling anywhere that we can access oil.

This may be the opinion of just one American; but I think you will find that it's shared by many others. How you respond to our needs will have direct bearing on your continued employment. Consider this a written reprimand from your employer, the citizens of the United States of America.

  177. I send you this note as a request to start putting pressure on yourself and colleagues to reconsider the reluctance to resolve our gasoline and oil crisis by aggressively drilling for oil domestically, and increasing gasoline production in the United States. I really don’t know what your individual stands are on this issue – I am almost sure it is on partisan lines - but I encourage you to consider the economic strain our elected officials are placing on those who pay taxes and support you. Please sit back and consider who is most important to you, us your constituents, or a few environmental zealots with personal agendas. Thank you for your attention and I wish you well and good judgment.
