    No way!! The American people will not be forced into slavery and we will not allow our children to be forced or indoctrined. Mandatory civil service goes against everything we stand for.     This service plan is a communist play. 100 housrs of community service or whatever for $4000 tuition. And just when do you think students willhave the time to do this? Or is it your plan to serve first and go to school later - RIDICULOUS!

    The F.E.C. never investigated millions of small internet donations to the Barak Obama campaign. Instead of requiring mandatory service for our young people, how about we just require the F.E.C. to do it's job.

    This bill will not increase service in our nation - it will only take away volunteers from worthy causes which will not be seen as Homeland Security Projects. Though, I do find it amusing that 2 days after introducing this bill (HR 393), Charlie Rangel introduced HR 458 which is to repeal mandatory community service by public housing recipients. It seems community service is not really the goal.

    Stephen Flynn (Council on Foreign Relations) Has been attributed with the idea for Rahm Emanuel's much vaunted "Civilian Security Force". Flynn has written: "The United States should roughly replicate the Federal Reserve model by creating a Federal Security Reserve System (FSRS) with a national board of governors, 10 regional Homeland Security Districts, and 92 local branches called Metropolitan Anti-Terrorism Committees. The objective of this system would be to develop self-funding mechanisms to more fully engage a broad cross-section of American society to protect the country's critical foundations from the widespread disruption that would arise from a terrorist attack."

    I am totally against the National Service Act. We are a democracy and do not force people into compulsory service. All have the free choice to volunteer for the group of their choice and many have done wonderful things for our nation under this process. We already have a military which is voluntary as it should be. My 3 cousins chose to serve and are Vietnam vets. Both of my parents voluntarily served in WW2 defending our country. My children volunteer their time to help others whether it's Big Brother, Therapeutic riding programs or helping with the Cancer Society or Soup Kitchens. This is the American Way. My children are not for you to enlist in socialist programs. DO NOT UNDERMINE OUR CONSTITUTION!
