    NO MANDATORY CIVIL SERVICE FOR U.S. citizens. THis is not Russia, German Reich or China. Ifsomeone wants to volunteer, that's fine. THe families can barely make ends meet and now they need to have their kids in servitude? WHY????? If B.Obama and R.Emmanuel and C.Rangel think it's such a great idea, then they should enlist members of their own family and leave everyone OUT OF THIS!!

    To the above, I want to add that never should it be a requirement for getting a college loan that a person have to sign up for civil military. To do so would again give the privileged (wealthy) children a way out of this, just as the privileged (wealthy) young were allowed to escape the military during the viet nam war. My concern on this is because of Obama's website during campaign talking about help with student loans with the condition of students having to do civil civil service in return - no specifics were given on this requirement and that makes it way too frightening. Plus what about the privileged children again - will they again get the free ride on their parents coat tails? Of course they will.

    I have participated and participate in many voluntary activities in my community. I personally derive great joy and happiness from what I do. The reason I spend many hours volunteering each month is precisely because I am a "volunteer". No one forces me to give my time and services. Because it is freely given, I reap the joy and happiness of "choosing" to share my talents and energy.

    If peope are "mandated" to give of their services, it not only takes away their freedom to choose, but it also creates a "backlash" for those they are supposed to be serving. It's a "lose. lose" situation rather than a "win, win" scenario.
    A mandate to force people to give of their time and services is not only "unconstitutional" but it's a very "bad idea".
