Pass a Strong Job Creation Package Now

While the sudden and damaging economic contraction of our American economy has slowed and there are many signs of stabalization, we have much more work to do together to stabalize our businesses, protect our homes and families, and return to business growth and job creation.

I am writing to ask you to act now to assure we avoid a double dip recession by laying the foundation for a quick and robust recovery through a very strong bi-partisan job creation package that includes hiring incentives, payroll cost reductions, business investment incentives, increased access to small business capital and credit, a special SBA lending program enabling businesses to consolidate their credit card debt and convert this high interest credit into traditional loans, increased transparency on the lending activities associated with the SBA, and incentives for business creation and investment in important areas of green solutions and clean energy.

And, I call upon you to act on behalf of all women-owned businesses to implement the Women's Federal Procurement Program. This important program was signed into law in 2000 - and has never been implemented. Even now, after one year in office - and during the greatest economic contraction of our generation, the SBA and the Obama Administration have failed to implement this important program which will provide fair access to federal contracts for women-owned small businesses.
