Tell President Obama to Support Women Business Owners
Write a Letter to President Obama and Congress : 1,074 Letters Sent So Far
After more than one year in office, the Small Business Administration and the Obama Administration have still not implemented the Women's Federal Procurement Program. The implementation of this program, signed into law in December 2000, was sabotaged by the Bush Administration. Meanwhile women business owners lose billions of dollars every year. Even though women own nearly one-third of all firms in America, the federal government cannot even reach the paltry decade old five percent spending goal with women-owned firms. President Obama pledged his support of women businesses and now pledges support for small business growth and job creation -- but, he has failed to take the most necessary step to support women contractors. Now is the time to assure fair access to contracts for women-owned firms. Support the efforts of the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce to give women fair access to federal contracts. Implement the Women's Federal Procurement Program. | |
