ARMY SPECIALIST RICHARD DAVIS WAS KILLED BY FELLOW SOLDIERS IN 2003. BUT UNFORTUNATELY HIS SENSELESS MURDER HAS NOT BEEN THE ONLY ONE. MANY OF OUR SOLDIERS HAVE MADE IT THROUGH THE WAR ONLY TO COME HOME AND BE MURDERED BY THEIR FELLOW SOLDIERS. MANY HAVE JOINED THE MILITARY TO PROUDLY SERVE OUR COUNTRY AND INSTEAD GET MURDERED WHILE STILL IN TRAINING TO GO TO WAR! MANY DEATHS HAVE BEEN RULED SUICIDES BY MILITARY INVESTIGATORS DESPITE EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY AND THE PROTEST OF THEIR FAMILIES......AND JUST LIKE THE PARENTS OF RICHARD DAVIS, THEY'VE HAD TO EMBARK INTO THEIR OWN SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH DUE TO A LACK OF QUALITY ANSWERS AND COOPERATION FROM MILITARY INVESTIGATORS. THESE PARENTS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CONDUCT MURDER INVESTIGATIONS OF THEIR OWN CHILDREN. THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HAVE THEIR CHILDRENS BODIES EXHUMED AND POUR OVER GRISLY AUTOPSY REPORTS TO GET TO THE FACTS NEEDED FOR JUSTICE. HELP OUR MILITARY FAMILIES AND PROTECT OUR NATION FROM THE FUTURE ONSLAUGHT OF A NEW KIND OF CRIMINAL IN THE MAKING!! DEMAND THAT CONGRESS INTERVENE BY TAKING THE FOLLOWING ACTION: GANGS ARE SENDING THEIR MEMBERS TO JOIN THE MILITARY TO GET THE SPECIALIZED TRAINING IN ORDER TO CREATE A NEW BREED OF CRIMINAL TO BRING BACK INTO SOCIETY WHEN THEY GET OUT. OUR HONORABLE SOLDIERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SERVE ALONGSIDE THESE KIND OF PEOPLE. THE FBI HAS CALLED THE GROWING NUMBER OF GANG MEMBERS IN THE MILITARY AN "ISSUE OF NATIONAL SECURITY." BUT DESPITE THAT FACT, MILITARY LEADERS DON'T CONSIDER IT A MAJOR PROBLEM. CONGRESS NEEDS TO TAKE MEASURES TO STOP THIS PRACTICE FROM HAPPENING AND HOLD THOSE RESPONSIBLE ACCOUNTABLE! CALL FOR AN UNBIASED, INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION INTO THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THE ISSUANCE OF MORAL WAIVERS AND VIOLENT CRIMES IN THE MILITARY. DEMAND THAT A SOLDIERS MURDER BE TREATED WITH THE SAME SERIOUSNESS AS THE MURDER OF A POLICE OFFICER. REQUIRE OPEN COMMUNICATION AND THAT ALL RECORDS OF A DECEASED SOLDIER BE RELEASED TO THEIR NEXT OF KIN WITHOUT THE TURMOIL OF HIRING AN ATTORNEY AND TAKING THE MATTER TO COURT. A TRAINED SOLDIER IS A LIVING, BREATHING, DEADLY WEAPON. ANY SOLDIER USING HIS OR HER MILITARY SKILLS AND WEAPONS TO COMMIT MURDER OR OTHER VIOLENT CRIMES SHOULD BE HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD AND PUNISHED ACCORDINGLY. WE MUST ACT NOW!! THE DEATH TOLL IS BEING IGNORED!! FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE VISIT WWW.RICHARDDAVISFORPEACE.COM | |

the movie, 'in the valley of of elah" and "hurt locker", has a very clear message. the only way to co-exist in our planet is to say no to war and respect of all life.

I am a Canadian, who while on holiday in Florida interrupted three U.S. military men attempting to recruit my two sons for the cause. The billboard outside their office indicated the financial incentives for "joining up". After witnessing this, I was shocked at the glamorization of war I saw on their faces and on the posters outside. I felt relieved to have grown up in Canada. I am saddened for American families whose children are enticed into military service to pay off their educations or to find training that will employ them if they survive the killing fields. Has the U.S. learned nothing from Vietnam? Our hearts go out to all of you.Your children are the future of your nation. They should not be used as grunts in a war for oil. This war must end. Life is sacred, and American families deserve to be served and protected! Peace be with you.

Men and women returning from all areas of combat need to be evaluated for all issues that may have arisen due to their service in areas of conflict.

The military needs to recognize that they need to create a Mental Wellness Program for all our war heroes who were sent to hell and back. I had an uncle that didn't feel love for anyone anymore after Vietnam because I believe he didn't want to feel anything good or bad about any part of his life. He drank his life away.

I was in tha U.S
Army during the Vietnam Era and I grew up on military bases all my childhood life. I know what military life was like. I am sorry about you son. He was a good soldier like I was.

I served in the same unit as Mr Davis on Fort Benning. I know first hand how life can be there. It's a very rough place. Something needs to be done about that entire unit.
