The Data We Collect and How We Use It

Rally Congress is a business unit of Rally Communications, LLC. Rally Congress collects information from Site visitors for the following purposes:

To deliver emails and letters to Congress. As part of the delivery of your emails and/or letters to Capitol Hill offices, we provide your elected officials with the personal data collected on this site. That is, of course, the purpose of Rally Congress! Your name, address, and e-mail address, as well as any other information that you include in your letters and send through Rally Congress will be read by your elected officials and their staff. Your data is further subject to Congressional rules-- almost all members of Congress have their own privacy policies.

To process your transactions. Name, address, e-mail, and purchase detail may be collected and stored as part of the transaction history. Importantly, we never store credit card numbers online. All credit card information is sent directly to our processors via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Rally Congress may need to share some of this information (address, payment) with delivery services, credit card clearing houses and other similarly situated third parties that are required to accomplish the transaction.

To share with petition organizers. In some cases, your name, address, email, and other information is made available to the organization or individual that organized the petition you are signing. You can locate the name and, where available, the contact information for the petition organizer on the bottom of each petition. These third parties may, in turn, have their own privacy and data use policies.

To provide future service and support. Information collected for this purpose is both contact information and information related to products and service/support requested. This information is also used to provide service, product update, and similar notices.

To deliver content. Information may be collected to help create Web site content and navigation that is most relevant and user friendly. This includes information collected as a result of site navigation as well as information provided in forms. This information is used to help improve the Site, analyze trends, and administer the Site.

To manage and improve email deliverability.

From referral/"tell a friend" function. If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend's name and email address. Rally Congress will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. Rally Congress stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. We also use the data to make sure that a friend never receives more than one email a day from the "tell-a-friend" page. The friend may contact Rally Congress at privacy@rallycongress.com to be permanently removed from the referral program across all Rally Congress petitions.

As a result of legal requirements. Rally Congress may be required to provide personally identifiable information to comply with legally mandated reporting, disclosure or other legal process requirements.

In support of these uses, Rally Congress may use personal information to provide you with more effective customer service, to improve the Site and any related Rally Congress products or services, and to make the Site easier to use by eliminating the need for you to repeatedly enter the same information or by customizing the Site to your particular preference or interests. In order to offer you a more consistent experience in your interactions with Rally Congress, information collected by RallyCongress.com may be combined with information collected by other Rally Congress services.

We may use your personal information to provide you with important information about the product or service that you are using, including critical updates and notifications.

Advertisers on This Site

We may belong to the Google advertising network. Some of these networks use their own ad serving system, to display ads on this site, instead of, or in addition to our own private ad serving system. Ads may contain cookies, and appear to be coming from our site, but may in reality come from our partners who are serving ads on our site.

Your IP address may be privately cross-referenced to an industry-standard geo-targeting database, without using personal identifying information, to deliver advertising or content correlated to your general geographic location such as country, state, city, or direct marketing area.

Information regarding visitors to enabled sites is aggregated for the purposes of reporting to advertisers, ad sales organizations and the Web sites. Information about specific visitors is not made available to any of these organizations.
