1) Slow down! Health care reform is important, complicated and affects 1/6 of the U.S. economy. Majority Leader Reid had six (6) weeks to write his 2,074 page bill behind closed doors. Shouldn’t the American people have at least that much time? We need health care reform done right, not fast. Stop the midnight amendments and procedural tricks, and let us see a real bill that puts patients first.

2) We will remember how you voted. A for cloture is a vote in support of government-run health care.

3) Health care reform can’t possibly be revenue-neutral. By all accounts these health care bills establish a new $1-trillion government-run health care program. That’s on top of the $800-billion stimulus plan passed earlier this year. We don't have the money, can't afford huge new taxes to get it, and it would be wrong to borrow it and leave even more debt to our children and grandchildren.

4) Seniors have paid into Medicare all their lives. It is wrong to cut seniors benefits and give it to non-senior citizens. Seniors in rural America who are on Medicare Advantage are receiving a quality of health care they have never before received. Many seniors are dependent on Medicare Advantage to maintain their quality of life. It’s wrong to take that from them to create a new middle-class entitlement.

5) Washington has not proven that it can run an insurance program on budget and provide quality care – and it should not be allowed to take over our health care system. Whether that's through a public "option," mandates, or co-ops, Washington has proven it is ill-equipped to deliver the care Americans deserve.
  • Medicare and Medicaid are underfunded and about to go bankrupt.
  • We’re told there’s $500 billion in waste to be taken out of Medicare.
  • Any money saved from waste, fraud, and abuse should be kept for Medicare to make it stronger and more efficient for seniors and taxpayers. Fix Medicare first.
6) This is no time for tax hikes. The economy is still reeling and unemployment is painfully high. We should be cutting spending and taxes, not finding ways to fund huge new programs by raising tax rates through the roof.
  • Medical device manufactures and insurance companies will be hit with additional taxes. The added tax burden will ultimately be paid by average Americans.

7) Please oppose this bill and any health care program that puts Washington in charge of our health care.

    DO YOU HEAR ME NOW ! ? ! ?

Did the message sent by the voters of Massachusetts knock you out of your white castle in the clouds and back to the earth where the real people live? I sure hope so, because you have been given an opportunity to make a course correction and if you do, it just might save your job.

Stop being Pelosi's Patsy and voting the views of California's District 8. Your sworn duty is to represent the people of District 13 in North Carolina. You haven't been listening to us and I am mad as hell. If you think I enjoy sending letters to get you to do sworn duty, you are wrong. Cleaning my house is 100 times more fun then sending you letters. But if this is what it takes to clean out the “congressional house”, then I will continue to devote my time to the task.

I demand that you stand up for North Carolinians and the principals this country was founded on: limited government, separation of powers, and a government that is by the people, and for the people.

It is appalling that the health care reform bill is so BAD that members of the Democratic party have to be bribed before they will vote for it. Even more proof that the health care bill is bad is that the Democratic leadership refuses to let C-SPAN cover the health care debate so the public can see what is in the bill and who put it in the bill.

Stand up for North Carolinians and vote NO on the health care bill.

The elitist Washington DC crowd is out of touch, out of control, and out of power in 2010. Consider this your pink slip from me.

  3. They were very nice, thanked me for calling.I told them that I did not want a government run plan but if there is an option,it should be the same for all Americans including the president and all government employees.
insurance should be allowed across state lines.(that would promote compition between insurance companies and lower rates)

work on Tort reformand put a cap on what people could sue for(that would lower malpractice rates and encourage more people to become physicians)
I provided them with my name and address when they asked.

  5. I told them to hold off on the Health bill
until Scott Brown is sworn in as the new
Senator, also to let us do our thinking for us and let the Government stay out of it.They said that they would pass on the message, I gave them my name and address.

  7. I call Rep. ooper's office in Washington and talked to a very polite man. This was tatlly different when I went to his office in Nashville last fall, I was greeted with almost hostility because my views were not in line with his views. I discussed about the health care bill, illegal people in out country ( I wll not call the Illegal E------ bcause just the E------ word connotates someone who has come into this country legally, someone who did not come into our country legally is not an E-----!) and cap and trade.
The gentleman was very polite, got my name and address, and said that he would get back with me. Since I know that these statements I made were in disaggreement with what he does, his reply will be interestin to me.
As a point of information, if you think a Bluedog Democrate will vote conservative on anythin, you are WRONG. They will vote that way when their vote is no longer needed to pass a liberal agenda. For everyone please check their voting records, NOT WHAT THEY SAY!!!

  15. Talked to Aliza. She was very nervous. I used the format above and was polite but she had too many other calls waiting and didn't seem to agree. I mentioned that if my Rep doesn't do what I want as a taxpayer that I will run for Congress against her. Just because my Rep, Shelley Berkley is really really, rich and I'm only the widow of a US Marine Purple Heart and "poor," by comparison I have a good mind and care about the people and not the Almighty Dollar which is worshipped today.

  17. Told her I know she voted against health care, but perception is they did not need her vote and we will continue to monitory her voting recordand hopes she will not vote for any more big government take over of America, or we will vote her out....

  19. Michael Coffman (R-CO) has been against ObamaCare for some time and when I called his office it was more to say "thanks" and to keep up the good work. I suspect that they are being deluged with calls. I live in Colorado now, but was born, raised and schooled in Massachusetts and am in "shock" with how MA responded in yesterday's elections...GOD BLESS all the good people who voted Brown yesterday. I, also e-mailed Mark Udall and Michael Bennet our CO Senators and continued my plea to them to change their position.
