The government jacks interest rates low and spends like crazy. It doesn't pay to save, because of inflation and not getting paid a real interest rate to save. To keep up with the government-sponsored inflation, one has to speculate or trade in the stock market (yes, no "buy and hold" right now!), and then they want to tax us for it!

To double tax our free market trading is unconstitutional. The stock market will be the only place left that us savy investors can effectively secure our retirement years.

Taxes on trading, a stamp tax, will punish all financial firms, not just the Wall Street firms such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, etc. that caused the problem.
Find a more direct method, one that targets the guilty and does not punish the innocent.
Tax the credit default swap derivative writers and buyers. Tax the interest rate swap derivatives.
Exclude from taxation equities and equity options.

I am a retired school teacher on a small pension. The only way I make ends meet is by buying and selling equities at the appropriate time.
Please, please do not implement H.R. 1068. It is not fair and is not the American way.
