  5. This is an outrageous amount. This will kill my new business. How can this even be considered fair?

  7. Since I trade on a shoestring budget (I trade as a hobby) I would no longer be able to trade anymore as the tax on the trades would make it prohibitive.

  9. vote no, this is anti american, anti free enterprise....H.R 1068 would crush the average individual investor/trader. Vote NO !!!!I don't need to pay the government anymore than I do. I am honest and try to save and invest for these my retirement years. You've taken enough from the American people...no more earmarks either.Agreed. It will in no way hurt Wall Street firms, only the average american. It will also crush the traders who are truly self empowered and self reliant. Instead, toughen the penalties for the executives who made the reckless decisions that created this mess

  13. At this juncture, I'm oppossed to any spending, "solution", or taxation by government for ANY reason except national defense. They were reckless and irresponsible before, now in one bill Obama has spent more than all the President's before him combined. Keep your hands out of our pockets....between local, state and federal taxes, you already get over 50% of what we earn. Enough!

  23. I am not against reasonable and prudent taxes, just imprudent ones. For example, a much more prudent tax would be a gasoline tax that keeps gas at say $4 per gallon, to make us reduce dependence on foreign oil and reduce carbon emissions. Please propose something like that instead of this reckless tax that will have virtually no impact on the true culprits but will tax many innocent investors.

  25. This tax is completely unfair and will not raise revenue. All it will do is reduce trading activity. And trading activity is not the problem. Stocks are down because of real problems with the economy and financial system.
