I am strongly recommending that you appose this bill, it will kill all iiquidity in the markert. There will be no reason for people to invest knowing that ontop of capital gains tax, thier will be a transaction tax on the purchase as well as the sale of the equity. This will do harm to a market that is already in troubleThis comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

During the Great Depression, the lawmakers did not tax the stock market. That would hinder millions of Americans from breaking even. It may take 10 years for all of us to break even. With this tax, we can all see our retirement funds fade away. This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

Services Economy without Financial Services?Isn't it enough that NYSE is losing business to foreign exchanges as it is? People are just going to trade Offshore.

This would be devestating to me especially since I've already taken a huge hit on my 401K, now you want me a share of whatever I can do to recover as the market comes back. With this, I'll have to place fewer trades and take lower gains. It will cause another major hit to the stock market, reducing momentum and, therefore, profits. The market will then be depressed from its standard operational conditions. There will be less liquidity in the market which is used to help establish the true value of stocks. Then you'll be taking another tax -- capital gains -- . Please stop this legislation. I'm 63 and don't have a lot of time to recover before retirement.

Passage of H.R.1068 will result in fewer small investors (lack of affordability); we need small investors in the market to help with economic stimulus. We need active investors in all markets. We also need a diverse group of traders; passage of this bill will drive many smaller traders (who have NOT been a part of this debacle) out of business, ensuring more market share to the people who helped to effect this huge mess we're in now. Please vote NO on H.R.1068.This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

Wall street will just pass the tax to the small investor, so middle class Americans will simply be taxed further, and further and further until we collapse. Throwing money at a problem doesnt fix it, taxing the problem just makes it worse but thats all politicians know how to do.This comment has been reported to the site manager.
