    In today's economy, this is outrageous with so many young families struggling to make ends meet. In addition, this is a GREEN initiative, recycling rather than filling up landfills with useable clothing. Sometimes with all the rules today, I wonder how my son got to the age of 33!!! He wore 2nd hand clothes and survived, as well as myself, at age 59!! Amazing, and without all the restrictions!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I can understand toys from China before a certain date not being resold at consignment shops because most of them dont check for lead poisening but clothes should be fine. It what has been done for centuries.

    I was planning on opening a maternity and childrens consignment shop and was turned down by the city because the area I was opening it was on Main Street and zoning did not allow for a second hand shop. What is this world coming to?

    This wouldn't be a bad idea if the FAT CATS that came up with it would also give us money every time we wanted or needed to change our furniture or buy clothes some of us can only put money aside once a year for clothes.. Christmas or Easter..What's in your wallet?..Maybe we can go shopping for furniture at on of these FAT CAT'S houses that would be nice....

    I thought that we were a country all about freedom? Dosen't this in effect take away a parents choice of where to shop for their children. Isn't it the parents responsiblity to be informed and then make a decison on what to buy based on their knowledge.

    Are you serious! I can not believe that kid's resale stores are being forced to cloths, I use these store just as i use grocer stores. I'm a sinlge mom of three and we need these stores. They have kept my kids clothed nicely for the last 6 six....OMG

    Resale is the only way many families are able to make it in this economy. It is also very environmentally irresponsible to squelch the re-use of clothing or toys. What makes it safe to pass them from one sibling to another, or one relative to another, but not from one family to another? Is it more dangerous when it crosses through the hands of someone who makes a living providing this service? This makes no sense! Please reverse the decision that has caused such problems for the moms of our country!

    This is a shame!!! The resale world is not a choice for some parents in todays world ITS A MUST and although I understand the need to protect our children.......there has to be a better way than closing down mom and pop resale shops!! PLEASE HELP

    Parents need to educate them selves and make the choices for themselves what is safe to buy for their families....Not have the government decide...there are not doing a good job as it is anyway when it comes to consumer safety.
