I think it is sorry to pass a bill to stop selling second hand clothing for kids
this is the only way lots of families have of clothing their kids today for so many people has lost jobs due to the economy like myself.

I would also like to add that new clothes often contain high levels pesticides and sovents such as formaldihide and flame retardants. I believe that my children are safer in used clothes which because of repeated washing have lower levels of these pollutants

I am shocked that someone would pass a bill so that kids clothes can't be sold second hand, apparently you don't realize that for some people that is the ONLY WAY they can cloth their kids, this is shameful. Maybe it's the manufacturers that should be fined for making the products hazardous in the first place.

Do you people realize the state our economy is in? In the past I have had to clothe my children through organization's such as the salvation army and good wills also hand me down's from family and stranger's had it been not for these my children along with other people's children would have gone without clothe's for School and ect. I am totally against this and was under the impression that we the people have a say in what law's are passed and not passed! This is wrong to take away a mean's of clothing our children affordably and forcing us in shopping in place's we cannot afford. Doe's any-one out there know that there are alot of people in the United States {ALONE} THAT ARE POOR AND HUNGRY, Thank God for the soup kitchen's also. If there is truly lead in these clothes someone need's to be checking into the manufactures and quit trying to take away our right's and freedom of American People.Enough is Enough Thank You..

WHAT DO YOU PEOEPLE THINKS THAT THE POOR PEOEPLE OF THIS COUNTRY CAN GO OUT AND BUY NEW CLOTHES ALL THE TIME. THERE WILL BE KIDS GO TO SCHOOL WITH THE SAME CLOTHES ON THIER BACKS. WHY DON'T YOU MAKE A DEVISE TO RULE OUT WHAT CLOTHES ARE NO GOOD. WE ARE IN HARD TIME AND YOU ARE MAKING THE POOR SUFFER MORE. IT's GOING BAD ENOUGH THAT THE POOR MIGHT NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO PUT FOOD ON THEIR TABLES.NOW, YOU ARE MAKE IT HARDER YET TO MAKE ENDS MEET.GET WITH THE MANUFACTURER TO MAKE IT SAFE FOR OUR KIDS.I RAISED MY KIDS ON HAND ME DOWN. I DID EVERYTHING TO CUT CORNER WHEN I HAD TOO. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS COUNTRY POEPLE LIVE BE ON THEIR MEANS. As much as we need to regulate toxins which could affect our families, this bill seems to be at the wrong end. Regulation needs to start with the manufacturers. So many people depend on thrift stores; I would not have been able to clothe my kids or supply my kids with toys. Please revise the bill. Thank you.

What a waste to throw away perfectly good items
that could be enjoyed by someone else! We certainly are not teaching our children anything about being thrifty and recycling items for other uses. Lets keep these things out of the landfills. I love my resale shops!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's absolutely ridiculous that used clothing toys and books are being included in this ban. Many people depend on thrift store items to provide clothes, books and toys for their kids. Is this the time(given the economy) to throw all these reusable items in the trash??? Please use your brains if you can

Many parents cannot afford new clothing. I shop regularly for me and my daughter at our local Goodwill. Please leave second hand shops alone as many parents are in the same boat.

To all lawmakers, I respectfully request that you please revise the CPSIA!
Please, please, please..... before jobs are lost and consumers lose out on economical savings afforded to them through resale shops. Thanks for your prompt attention to this matter.

In these economic hard times, why are we focusing on this? Please allow folks to be thrifty! I just spent $140 on a pair of good hiking boots for my 14 year old son. I don't believe in buying used shoes (especially for hiking). But, otherwise, I don't know how I would have been able to keep my children in clothes! And, I'm middle class professional. I just like to reuse/recycle/reduce. One outfit from consignment is one less out of China.

Just what do you think parents will do with used clothing with much more use. Perfectly good clothing should not end up in a landfill. That is ridiculous.
