PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THIS LAW TO PASS. I HAVE A SEVEN YEAR OLD SON AND I KNOW THE RISK OF LEAD BEING IN HIS TOYS AND CLOTHES, BUT WE ARE A LOW INCOME FAMILY AND SOMETIMES THE ONLY WAY I CAN PUT CLOTHES ON HIS BACK IS BY BUYING USED CLOTHES FOR HIM TO WEAR.This comment has been reported to the site manager. I read a good one on a site, said if this happens, we will all send our used kid clothes to the capitol instead of donating it for people who can't afford to buy new!! Also my son (11) is furious...MOST of my kids Christmas is second hand stuff, and ALL of our clothes are second hand. Are these lawmakers going to pay the difference for us to buy brand new, or send us stuff to make clothes or what????This comment has been reported to the site manager. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Many children's clothing items are only worn once or twice -- it's economical and Earth-wise to reuse and gift them to people who need them. Please help resale shops continue their service to our Earth. This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

This law would be economically and environmentally unsound, not to mention the imposition of hardship on droves of American families. I urge you to vote against this bill as it is now written. We, the people, need our government to help and support our efforts to maintain stable family economics. It is difficult to do that when you throw unreasonable obstacles in our path. This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

Once again our lawmakers have passed into law something that was not fully understood as to what the consequences would cause. Yes, I believe in implementing laws that apply to safety for our children, such as toys painted with lead base paint, but what could be dangerous in clothing? This law the way it stands is ludicrous. This comment has been reported to the site manager. It will be reviewed and removed if inappropriate. Thank you!

I myself have an 8 month old, as she out grows her clothes I am setting them aside so I can sell them or give them to a thrift store. If I can sell them in a yard sale without testing them, what am I suppose to do? I can't afford to test them nor would I know how to do this. I disagree with this ruling. None of my children have been hurt so far, so what is the point? As far as I know there is nothing wrong with the clothes that are being made or have been made for infants. This comment has been reported to the site manager. With the current economic crisis families cannot afford new clothing and second hand, Goodwill and Salvation Army stores are a place to shop. This also prevents families from selling their clothing and using the money for food or other essentials. We didn't have this problem until everything started coming from China. Think about making things in the USA and solve the problem that way.
