This is pitiful 1 am one of six and love living in America but, I wonder how a law like this makes things better. I have bought used clothes my my whole life never gotten sick . never had lead and we were tested all the time . The problem in this world is people don't watch their kids . They should not put anything but, Food in their mouths and their wouldn't be a problem. Parents take responsibility watch your kids and stop suing we live in a sue happy world and the lawyers are the only ones making out .

I have three small children. It costs a lot of money to dress them for the different seasons that we experience in Iowa. There are many garage sales and second hand stores that we frequent to get clothes for our children without paying huge prices. In rural America (Iowa) we are feeling the effects of the economy. Just last week, we heard of layoffs in our rural community of over 160 people. We are being encouraged to go green and stop throwing things in the trash. Please reconsider this act or change the wording to protect us from becoming a poor society without clothing for our children. There is nothing wrong with children wearing second hand clothing rather than just throwing them out.

why send gently used clothing to the landfills?? these is all part of "recycling" and this law NEEDS TO CHANGED. also, how many MA and Pop businesses do you plan to close down. Think about what you are doing to this country!!

Please don't let this bill pass. I'm part of a freecycle group that allows people to pay along clothes and toys to someone who could use them as opposed to filling our landfills with items that are perfectly useful. I'm trying to do what I can to save our enviornment. Before pass this bill think about all the clothes and toys that is going to end up in the landfills.

This is unbelievable!!! This is how I buy my childrens clothing!!! I can't afford to buy new expensive clothing for them so this is a great way to save some money and buy some nice clothes from other moms who don't need them anymore. This can not happen!!!! Please re-consider!!!

Families like ours have survived difficult economic periods, in part, by being able to purchase used clothing for their children at places like Goodwill and Salvation Army store. While my wife & I don't use ebay (or like computer-based selling tools) the younger generation certainly does - and for the same reason we go to Goodwill stores. In the name of commmon sense, please revise the law to allow this to continue.

Please do not move forward with this law. I know many mothers out there that could not get through each day without this option to cloth thier children. This is not fair to all the small business owners either.

It seems completely ridiculous to stop the passing along of children's clothing. In addition to ending small monetary transitions, it will also add to the garbage and landfills in a way that is completely unnecessary! Please fix this!!!

In this weak economy taking away the ability to buy used clothing is going to hurt numberous families. Don't let this happen to the hard working families just trying to put clothes on their kids.

I understand your concern for the safety of our young children, but could this law have been lobbied on behalf of stores that feel threatened by the resale of chldrens clothing such as Walmart, Meiyer, K-Mart, Target, Sears, etc. etc. Think about it for a while and then tell me you don't was new clothing when you buy it and then it becomes used. Are your children being threathened by new clothing as well. What is the time line for your clothing not to be threatened. If clothing is passed from one of your children to the next in line is the next child in jepardy of being contaminated by this hazardous product. Please think this through.

You need to start with the manufactures of the clothing and toys item not punish the little guy and the small businesses. Consignment and thrift stores are my only way I can put cloths on my kids backs, please don't take that away from us.
