    I think it is disgusting the amount of money you people make while others out there are losing your jobs! DO YOU NOT HAVE A CONSCIOUS OR ANY MORALS OR ETHICS? OF COURSE NOT THAT IS WHY YOU VOTE YOURSEVES PAY INCREASES EVERY CHANCE YOU GET! SHAME ON EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU. YOU ARE SHAMEFUL TO THIS COUNTRY AND A DISGRACE FOR WHAT THIS NATION STANDS FOR.

    I think it is disgusting that congress continues to allow themselves pay increases every year even in the most troubled times this country has seen since the great depression. They all need a pay cut and be voted right out of there. This is a public service not a career. I can't wait till NOVEMBER 2010.

    In the beginning, being a Congressman was an honor and a voluntary roll. I think it is time that Congress look at what is important for American's not American politics.

    Most bills are not read in their entirety, researched or understood fully by congress members. They just sign bills without regard or realizing the full impact on working class - taxpaying Americans' livelihood. Congress has NOT been doing a good job for many decades, and that's why America has met its downfall; therefore, congress should take a pay cut and should have to experience the words that so many Americans understand such as: downsize, outsource, reorganization, efficiency expert analysis, etc.

    Look at what is happening in the USA!! People have had their wages cut up to 50% and/or laid off with no work. Who pays your wages? Based on the way taxes are paid, it sure isn't the financial sector based on the published information I have seen. The majority of financial industries have neither taken a reduction in pay, in fact, they are going to make more even though they caused this crisis and as a result are the reason our pay is cut. When are our representatives going to open their ears and eyes to the voters and not the lobbyists?

    There is more to this picture than just the congress, however I do agree for the congress to take a pay cut. Also I feel the state and county governments should be doing the same.
    Police officers need to use their own car when in personal time and no their police vehicles and also eliminate unnecessaries expencces such traveling for meeting, use video conferencing in stead.
    I have been unemployed since December 2008 and my wife is working 12 hours shifts. It is not right for governmental personnel to take such high privileges, they all need to take a pay cut and contribute to the cause.

    My wife had had to take 7% pay cut from her employer. I work two jobs. My primary employer cut our pension plan and my secondary employer gave us a 10% paycut. I feel that congress and the President should take a 10% paycut across the board.

    Washington politicians are such hypocrites! Always calling Americans before their committees and demanding accountability when they themselves are the ones who need to be called into account before the American people for their utter irresponsibility! They should not be able to vote themselves pay raises or pensions and should have to pay into social security like they have forced us to do.

    Congress needs to put themselves on the diet they have impossed on the American worker.
    If you can force UAW workers to take a cut you need one too.After all your actions,or lack of, brought this Country down!

    We the people are having our savings stolen/ pilfered. It is time to share the spoils/ wealth.
    Stop you own pay raises for at least 4 years, and while you are at it take a 10 % pay cut, do not slip in any defered pay off at a latter date!!!
    Enough is enough.

    I completely agree with everything that is stated. It's time that congress shows they are willing to give up a little and share in helping the economic situation instead of trying to make veterans pay for their medical benefits.

    After watching the witch hunt on Capitol Hill on Wednesday regarding compensation packages (THAT CONGRESS APPROVED), I couldn't agree more with this petition. We should hold a committee meeting with a large mirror. Then they can question their own incompetence!
