I was shocked and deeply disturbed to discover that (a) the FAA was unaware that non-English speaking mechanics were servicing commercial airlines, in violation of FAA regulations and (b) upon learning of this situation, it has done nothing to rectify the problem, nor even respond to the letter sent by 17 Congressmen, calling for specific action.

As you may know, for safety’s sake, English has been the official language of the international airline industry and a requirement of the FAA. That this agency appears to be ignoring its own regulations is outrageous and smacks of putting multicultural politics ahead of passenger safety. I urge you to demand the FAA enforce its own rules on English proficiency.
