Dear Senator: With more than 84% of all Americans saying English should be the official language of the United States, according to the latest (May 14th) Rasmussen Poll, I would hope you would seriously consider becoming both a cosponsor and supporter of Senator James Inhofe’s S.991, the National Language Act of 2009. As you know, when this same bill was offered as an amendment in 2006 and 2007, nearly two-thirds of the Senate voted for it. A common language has been the glue that has held this nation together and allowed immigrants from all corners of the globe to live and work together, in peace and harmony, for more than two hundred years. America doesn’t need diversity, it needs the unity that only a common language can provide. | |
