Tell Congress to Support the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)
Sign the Petition : 1,266 Letters and Emails Sent So Far
I am writing to you out of deep concern for the employment discrimination faced by transgender people and all other members of the LGBT community and to urge you to support the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). The bill, which has bi-partisan support in Congress, would add sexual orientation and gender identity to existing federal employment non-discrimination laws. Because transgender people are not currently protected by federal legislation and because of widespread discrimination against our community, we face significant levels of under- and unemployment due to prejudice in hiring and retaining transgender workers. The loss of a job due to discrimination leads to economic hardship and instability, impacting not only transgender people but also our families. I believe, as do the majority of Americans, that we all should be evaluated for the work that we do and our ability to do our jobs. Federal anti-discrimination legislation sends an important message to employers that intolerance in the workplace is unacceptable in the United States. I hope that you will join your colleagues in supporting ENDA. | |

We need to recognize prejudice and discrimination based on gender identity and expression as a national crisis. Please learn about these issues and support ENDA.

This is certainly not asking for "special rights". It is the epitome of equality and DEMOCRACY! It's just sad there has to be a law like this in place to discourage people from being discriminating. It's sick!

This is the time to make a difference in our nation. Support ENDA to provide a brighter future for all citizens. Equality should not be a privilege; it should be the right of all mankind.
